Hua Hin authority: Five of ten illegal hotels to face closure...finally

The head of the investigative committee examining the legality of ten Hua Hin hotels believed to be operating illegally has said that five will be served with closure notices.

Somporn Patchimpetch said that loopholes in the law had meant that the ten suspected hotels had been continue to operate over the last two months.

However, the fate of five of them have now been decided and they will have closure notices posted on the front of them.

These hotels originally applied to be just residential premises but later changed to operate as regular hotels offering daily rooms.

This was against the law and also their documentation has been found to be false after false documents were presented

No mention was made in the Manager story about the possible connivance of officials in issuing the bogus licences.

Five other hotels are still under investigation.

Manager did not name the hotels in their story but said the five would be shut according to Article 44 of building regulations dating back to 1979.

Unfortunately their brown envelopes did not meet the required standards, or got lost in the mail.
