I've got a Max 2.  Best phone ever and cheap as chips.  I paid 400 aud in China.

I bought a Mi Max 1 on Lazada for 10,500 THB back in May of last year.    Excellent phone.

On Gearbest it's on pre-sale order, pre-sale ends 16th Sep, then shipping should start.

I am also interested in this phone together with the Honnor note10 that has same screen size.

Why would you chose these phones over the new Oppo F9 with its 6.3" screen?

Just asking because I am actually pondering which one to buy...

The Mi Max 3 has a 6.9" screen.  My criteria for a new phone is a bigger screen.   The largest screen I had was on my Galaxy Tab some 10 years ago, that had a 7" screen although it also had crazy thick bezels.

8" to 8.5" without bezels would be the sweet spot for a phone for me.

Well I might get one for when I go off-shore working but I will first check them out if a 6.9" screen is just too big for me or not.

I will still use my J7+ when home with the much smaller 5.5" screen.

The new phones with +6" screen are not much bigger than a J7 because of the very small bezels and I might get one of those instead if 6.9" is too big.

Same problem here, xiaomi screens crack faster than Samsung screen.

But as I think only idiots spend 30000 on a mobile, I do not want to buy the Samsung note 9.

So this time I will buy a "book style" case that also protects the screen (I usually also think that only idiots protect their phone screen, but as I broke the previous ones only after few weeks, I think it's time to become an idiot ? )

Anybody has check other phones with very big screen ? Anything similar to Xiaomi in price ?

And about Aliexpress, is the phone exactly the same as the one that will be sold in Thailand ? if buying the phone to deliver in Thailand, no customs fee ?

Thanks.

When I checked Oppo I didn't like the UI.

Actually I do not like any UI and prefer android one "pure" android, but I didn't find any big phone with only Android and no crap interface ?

True!

I read a good review of the F9, but the guy said that the UI was a pain in the a..e, while bringing nothing in return.

Not sure why Huaweii or Oppo feel the need to add this on Android...

Otherwise, the Oppo F9 is really beautiful with its 6.3 waterdrop screen, and personally I find that 6.9 is way too big for a phone...at such a size it becomes a tablet.

I've been extremely lucky.  Until I bought my last phone (the Mi Max 1 back in May 2017) I had never used any kind of case and I had never dropped a phone.  When I bought this phone it came with a quite nice black case, so I decided I might as well use it.   Still haven't dropped the phone.   Not really sure why people drop phones so often though.

I go out drinking a lot and yes, I do get drunk.   But I've still never dropped a phone.

Not only I sometimes put them somewhere unsafe for example at night when it's dark, but I also hit a pole when walking in the street ?

Wine doesn't help also...

Check out the Honnor note10, comes with 6 or 8GB of RAM so likely more expensive than the Max3 but overall better specs too.

No, I also refuse to pay 30k baht for a bloody phone, my new laptop pc cost less than that.

Further I laugh out loud when they say the cameras are good one those phones! Try look at them on a 28" 4k monitor, my Fuji cameras photos easily blow any photo from a phone camera out of the water. Phone photos looks good on the phone and that's that, those tiny little sensors just can't compare with the real deal, no way.

Here are four phones compared at devicespecifications and kimovil.

For me the lack of stereo speakers eliminates the Vivo F9.  All of the above phones have stereo speakers except the budget Xiaomi Mi Max 3, which gsmarena measured at a maximum voice level of 68.5 dB, which eliminates that model for me.

So with a 6.5 inch Super AMOLED screen, stereo speakers, a thin (for the group) 78.2 mm width, a camera setup with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), and a powerful chipset, I think that the Meizu 16th Plus deserves consideration.

For anybody interested in the Meizu 16th Plus it is unlikely to ever be available online from a Thai seller, and Aliexpress tends to offer the best prices of the International sellers.  It is currently only available in the Chinese version and I would wait to buy it in the Global version which should be available soon.

There are some different Xiaomi Redmi Note 5's available.  Selecting the Redmi Note 5 Plus which is available at Lazada for 6,014 baht with 4/64 memory it can be seen compared to the Oppo F9 and the Pocophone here.  The Oppo F9 is 9,900 at Lazada with 6/64 memory and the Pocophone is 10,490 at Lazada with 6/64 memory.

The Redmi 5 Plus stands up reasonable well to the more expensive phones with the Oppo having the best camera and screen-to-body ratio and the Pocophone having the best raw CPU power.  None of the phones run pure Android OS as the Xiaomis run on an MIUI and the Oppo on ColorOS.  For that reason I added the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite on the second comparison as that gets you the same 4000 mAh battery as the Pocophone and Redmi 5 Plus, and it runs on Pure Android OS.  It is the most compact of the phones and has a camera similar to the Redmi 5 Plus and not as good as the Oppo or Pocophone, and it has the same Snapdragon 625 CPU as the Redmi 5 Plus and in the 3/32 version it goes for 5.990 baht at Lazada; same as the Redmi 5 Plus.

The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite is sold at Aliexpress cheaper than at Lazada for people who don't mind buying from Aliexpress and I would expect all 4 of the phones mentioned here would be available at any big IT Mall or MBK.

To me, each of these 4 phones are very nice, and each buyer can decide what features to go for if selecting one of these phones.

Be careful, see my post #23. If you ever need a repair on a Xiaomi you will have a problem.
