You mean Pickfords? There is a line in one of Gilbert and Sullivans operas where someone says 'He's a Parliamentary Pickford......he carries everything'. Great line Mr Gilbert.

No I meant Pynfords which I corrected myself after reading I had written a removal company.

Pynfords are an underpinning company that were famous for being able to literally pick a house up and move it to your new location.

They have them in the states also, no doubt you have seen then operate.

A very clever musician and wordsmith, a bit like Gilbert AND (Sir Arthur) Sullivan. Rule Britannia and all that. But who wants to be alone again naturally with Claire wanting matrimony.

I respectfully disagree. Every type of house has the same condensation problems what ever it is made from.

A bit off topic,

My pals teak house, no glass in the entire structure, the rear sleeping part of the house has floor to ceiling shutters.

It's almost entirely open to the air, apart from the servants quarters which is a separate concrete shanty at the edge of the property line.

Hakapalita you are certainly right very hard to come by even out in the boonies in the north country where they still grow. I had my wife's uncle  my contractor search out and buy and very old (80 years old I was told) Teak house dismantle it and ship it to our location. It wasn't cheap even 12 years ago. The cost plus transport  was I million baht. But it was  beautiful wood  most of it was 2 inches think 24 inches wide and from 12 ft and less in length. Cleaned up re planned absolutely gorgeous. I got what I wanted which was a local looking teak house. I could have had a far fancier  concrete a block house for less money. But this pleases me every time I look at it. Being a retired carpenter the warmth of the wood  is very soothing to the eye and heart for me at least . Andy my uncle smart carpenter contractor in his own right situated the house on our lot in such a way to give us the best cross ventilation in all seasons here up in Chiang Rai. No mold to speak of at all. not A/C just  natural ventilation and ceiling fans. I am content

ps I just wanted to add that he built it with huge overhanging eves the the rain has to be horizontal to even hit my windows.
