Although the depicture of the Serena caricature doesnt show any derogatory racial stereotype , it is just showing one persons actions on a tennis court .

That is wrong and has been asked and answered 20 times in this thread.  The caricature is racists.

  • Blacks are not a protected species. The many caricatures of Trump and other white people passes unremarked. He drew her as an ugly black woman having a tantrum. That is exactly what she was.

  • Personally Ihink the cartoon was hilarious and was the caricature of what we saw on the court. Williams was a disgrace to her sport and tried to turn her defeat and tantrums in to a woman thing.

  • She turned and made the whole incident about women eqaulity and sexsime issu and branded the umpire as a lier and a thief, and this is exactly how she was depicted in the cartoon...

And question 3?

Flame.  Are you now correcting spelling and grammar too?  Posts regarding others spelling and grammar not only hijacks the topic but is poor netiquette.

I posted it a number of times from a number of reputable Australians but I'll do it again since you don't seem to be able to understand it.

The depiction of Serena Williams was clearly drawn, consciously or unconsciously, from hackneyed and mocking images of African Americans and Africans - deeply offensive and with no place in social and political commentary. - Alex Byrne, Glebe

Please enlighten me! I don't know! Who is Alex Byrne [besides being a person who writes into The Sydney Morning Herald]? Why is he so reputable?  Why do you hold him and his opinion up so high?

But calling other posters illiterate because they don't agree with you it's fine for you, innit :whistling:

Not correcting anything. I was merely asking the reasoning behind you choosing to spell your forum name differently from the expected norm. Thought you might have an interesting answer. Doesn't really hijack the topic as it appears all over this topic.

If I were a grammar Nazi, I never have been and never will be, I could have picked up many examples in your posts.

Not true.  Feel free to use the quote function.  Don't you think it is wrong to lie?

Look what happened to Musk when he lied.

He doesn't lie, he offers alternative facts. Nothing has happened to him for offering alternative facts. Please post link, if I'm wrong.

<deleted> is Alex Byrne, Glebe? Does his opinion override everyone else's? I don't expect an answer because I doubt if you know who he is. He just happens to agree with your point of view.

No.  He is just one of many I've posted here and are available on line and in the media from news organizations and educators and people who are concerned with race relations around the world.

Please read your link. He hasn't been sued, he may be getting sued and may, or may not, lose the lawsuit. Ergo, he hasn't suffered the consequences of spouting alternative facts and may never do so.

But thanks for your alternative fact anyway.

Yes, there is actually a thread about that here on TV , which you could/should post that in

I was answering a question that one of our posters was apparently not able to find on google or TV,  Spidey wrote, " He doesn't lie, he offers alternative facts. Nothing has happened to him for offering alternative facts. Please post link, if I'm wrong "

I posted the link so he would know he was wrong.  Is that OK?

"Many" is a gross exaggeration. A few many times would be more accurate. Another alternative fact, I think.

I said look at what happens when you lie.  He lied and is getting sued.  Tons of negative publicity and the cost of the lawsuit will be substantial.  He has suffered many consequences already and will suffer more and so he should for lying about the brave Brit.

This link explains a little about drawings, photos and caricatures.

Most people can read and understand it easily enough though marcusarelus will condemn it as racist.

Your first quote is all past tense. He may get sued but no lawsuit has been issued yet. Ergo. It hasn't "happened".

The overwhelming response to the racist cartoon was one of outrage.  You can google that.

Caucasians are not a protected minority.  Grade 7 civics class Mrs Bergman.

Who are a "protected minority" and why are they "protected" and in which way ?

It really wasnt , some people were offended/outraged , some others were not offended/outraged .

As there has been no survey of peoples opinions , no one can say what the opinion of the majority is .

Covered in 7th grade civics class. If you missed it try google.

It's not even significant enough an event to have a poll on TVF.

I was expecting you to give an explanation .

I Googled that. It came back as the opposite of this.
