Pubs checked for guns following restaurant shootout

PATTAYA:--Police and Banglamung District officials checked Pattaya-area entertainment venues following a shootout at a Third Road restaurant.

 

District Chief Naris Niramaiwong, Pattaya police chief Pol. Col. Apichai Krop­pech and Tourist Police commander Pol. Lt. Col. Piyapong Ensarn brought tax officials with them as they checked the DN Pub, Saifah Karaoke, Sealuk Ka­raoke and Hangover Medicine Pickled Liquor Sept. 18.

 

Hangover Medicine – which sells “ya dong”, or moonshine liquor in various flavors – was cited for having 50 liters of untaxed, illegal alcohol. Manager Kitpipat Kuleelai, 41, was arrested.

 

All the other venues checked out clean.

 

The inspection was launched to check venues for proper security and ensure that patrons are checked for firearms before entering. It came a day after a Pattaya police officer and a Naklua gangster were shot in a shootout at the All New Mouthburi restaurant on Third Road.

 

Mouthburi remained closed the day following the shooting.

Agree, why is there not some continuous checking of everything in this country?

Many of the "restaurants/karaoke" places on 3rd rd are police owned.........

Pubs are not pubs in the British sense of the word.  They are more akin to night clubs.
