SMS from Daily Guru

Featured Replies

.

Anybody else getting 2 or 3 SMSes per day from Daily Guru?   This is with True Move H prepaid.  I am charged for them.  Difficult to tell how much.  If I let the balance go to zero, they stop.

True sez to stop them, dial *137, then 9 for English and follow instructions.  They stop for a day, maybe.  True sez something I am clicking on starts them up again.

What could it be?  I have BBC news.  I use Google,  YouTube.

????

No, obviously an identical name.

It's an SMS spammer plague that can occur on all major Thai networks.

I found a site in Thai language about the *137 to cancel but fight to understand what these "1", "2", "3" options mean.

And with AIS (just tried) I get an announcement in Thai language with five options.

With AIS it is easy (easier) managed online at the e-service site.

I have no idea how online service at True works.

Here:

http://www3.truecorp.co.th/truemoveh/selfservice/prepaid?ln=en

They say:

*137<dial> 3 To cancel content subscription SMS (Service is available for both Prepaid and Postpaid)

*137<dial> 2 To cancel spam SMS (Service is available for both Prepaid and Postpaid)

If you are charged for it is not simple spam but option "3".

With AIS I called them and spoke to a human being who spoke perfect English. I said I don't want anymore unwanted SMS messages and they stopped.

Not sure about True.

Is it Healthy Guru?

See quite a few folks complaining about this one on Thai social media recently.

TrueMove H reps on these threads suggest the *137 option, but most Thais give up and change their number.

To cancel spam SMS (Service is available for both Prepaid and Postpaid)    *137  press 2
To cancel content subscription SMS (Service is available for both Prepaid and Postpaid)    *137   press 3

Some repetition never hurts
