I live in Saraphi district in Chiang Mai and had my bike stolen by a Thai female during Saturday walking street there. It was found about a kilometer away the next morning after Police reporting. I don't think she could sell it. Possible she just was riding it home too. Very surprised and happy to have it back. 15K baht value.

Indeed you are correct, stealing is wrong, but to steal from someone who will most likely be struggling to live is an absolute scum bag thing to do. That’s when sentencing should be really harsh.
