November 5, 20187 yr I've had 2 dentists who where to quick to pull the tooth which I know with a bit more work it can be reconstructed. In short: Would you know one? Sent from my Pixel using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
November 5, 20187 yr Rim Far For Fun on Jhaban Rd. It is a one man show and I would consider him to be the best dentist i have found in CM, and I have tried a lot. tel 053 327300
November 5, 20187 yr I'll bite. How do you know it can be reconstructed? Let us know what the next dentists say, please.
November 5, 20187 yr I guess you can keep going to many Dentists until you find one who agrees with you.
November 23, 20187 yr I’ve found that if you tell them explicitly that you want the tooth saved...they will. They may want to pull it because they don’t have the expertise. it just will cost you of course... If it’s severely eroded a good specialist may be able to save it. i had a prosto-dontist 1/ remove most of the old tooth.... 2/ do a root canal....3/ insert a titanium post (not an implant) and the 4/ put a crown on top of the post.
November 24, 20187 yr A root canal and crown is I guess the typical method of saving a tooth at a cost of lets say 25k (that i was daft enough to pay at Empress) Removal cant be more than 2k surely? But its not the dentists job to decide, he should only be advising on options for you to decide. If he/she is incapable of inpartial advice then agree you must move on.
November 24, 20187 yr Unfortunately there are some dentists who see any existing teeth as just being in the way of doing some highly profitable implants. As other have said its about communicating what you want, also avoid the clinics that specialise in implants and cosmetic etc
November 24, 20187 yr By the responses none of you are Dentists. Making your own diagnosis and telling them what you want seems really stupid....

Telling them what you want is pretty important in my experience. Then.. of course.. they will tell you what they recommend and what they can do and can’t do etc etc.. For example, one dentist recently had me booked into doing a crown on a tooth that was giving me some pain. That was his recommendation. But when I quizzed him further he agreed there was actually nothing wrong with the tooth and that the crown was not essential. Another time one dentist said ‘that tooth’s not worth saving it’s too far gone’ i went to a specialist and said I wanted it saved if she could.....and she did. In that case the original dentist was just a dentist...and he couldn’t actually do the specialist work. So I said what I wanted ...and got it. Another time I said I wanted to save a tooth and every dentist agreed it was impossible because of the extent of the infection in the gum ....in that case I lost that tooth. So..

Yes that is the typical method. But as the Endodontist whom my dentist referred me to, told me, she didn't think the tooth would last more than 2 years and therefore she said the 20K THB expense of root canal/crown would not be worth it. At some point in the next few weeks I will have the tooth extracted (about 2K THB). It's the back molar so it's not like anyone will see it. Look for an honest dentist.
November 26, 20187 yr I paid 8000 for root canal and 8000 for the crown, right by CM Gate...Dr. Ben Woroppon...a lady comes in for the root canal. Vertical cracks are the curse of death for the tooth
