  • The thread is 6 months old, OP is probably long gone. Or at least fixed the problem by now

  • Then you need to go into the bios, before Windows starts up, and possible re-set that. I think it is F2 or F12 as it is booting.

Have you forgotten your username and password or has something gone awry?

You ask where to go to sort it, but you don't tell us where you are. Giving you a location in Bangkok when you are in Chiang Mai isn't going to be a lot of use.

You asked for her location:

I did notice that, but one does assume that since she's asking on a Thailand based forum she needs help in Thailand.

I mean if she was in, say, Matawan, New Jersey, 07747, United States, using vultr.com as an ISP why would she ask here.

Is that the Windows login screen or a bios login screen?

You need to be more specific about how you created the bootable USB Flash Drive.

I'm guessing you are using this; https://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/

As long as you have a back-up of all the data, photos, docs etc you want to keep, either on another drive, or preferably on the Cloud, One Drive or Google Drive and installation files for your apps. Then you can download Windows 10 from Microsoft onto a USB stick, via Media Creation Tool, and then go through the process of a clean install, not too difficult, but takes time and patience. Then re-install all your apps and programs, then your data. Where are you in Thailand?

It appears that English is not your first language. Which makes it more difficult to communicate successfully.

We don't even know if your USB Flash drive is actually bootable.

ALWAYS BACK UP EVERYTHING. To a USB drive or The Cloud. You never know what might happen. Have a good trip.

Reminds me of an old saying Programmers used to say :

"Data doesn't exist unless there is at least two copies of it"

It's still as true today as it ever was!

If you have Saturday morning free then you might get to a local IT Centre (Where in Chiang Mai?). Ask one of the IT shops there to re-install Windows and maybe an old copy of Office. Assuming they can do it there and then and you have the time to wait it should cost you under 1000 baht. As for any data well maybe a write-off. Good luck and safe journey.

Or you will probably get a better job done in Germany.

Maybe. But likely more expensive.

Do you have Microsoft account or bootable disk (https://www.recoverywindowspassword.com/ ),which can set your password or boot your computer .

Adding - Remove your hard drive and plug it into a working computer, this is for backup.then you can reinstall a new OS .

  • 6 months later...

I am not saying reinstall isn't a solution for OP,yeah,it can help OP out. But there are even more perfect ways to be safer than that.I read all the suggestions and even opened those tools in my browser. They can actually crack the password as they say.

https://hashsuite.openwall.net/

https://www.windows10passwordreset.com/

https://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/

They are also good at cracking the laptop/PC.
