Hotel worker loses his arm after putting it in washing machine that was still moving

Sanook reported that a man from the Thai Yai ethnic group working at a hotel in Klaeng, Rayong suffered a detached arm after putting it in a still moving washing machine.

Rescue services called by fellow employees attached the arm with bandages and rushed Kee, 28, to Klaeng Hospital.

Work colleagues said they thought Kee believed that the machine had stopped spinning when he tried to retrieve clothes.

One managed to turn off the machine power switch and they called the rescue services.

Sanuk did not follow up with the condition of the worker.

Probably by-passed to speed up operations !!!

I'm surprised that such a large object would go down the drain.

Perhaps he thought he was a cricketer trying some spin bowling!! Hope he recovers.

Not surprised at all to read so many unfunny comments on here about a poor guy's tragic accident.  Even if it was partly his fault, that still does not make the loss of his arm a reason for unwarranted humour.  Some posters on here are losing all their sense of empathy with victims of crime or accidents, but would, no doubt, be deeply shocked and hurt if similar comments were posted about a crime or an accident to one of their own family.  Think first and post later!
