Trump ex-lawyer pleads guilty to lying about Moscow tower project

I think the senate is emboldened. Like the lock on power has been broken.  And as Trump continues to sink, they might feel he is more of a liability. He will become radioactive. Everything he touches will turn to crap. From my point of view he is been becoming far less stable and more unhinged. For a few months. But since the election he has totally lost it. It devastated him. He cannot handle loss.

He will leave office a broken man. Barely ever to be heard from again. And nearly broke.

It's up to the republicans in the senate. If they turn on "trump" and they really should, "trump" will be impeached and convicted (unless he resigns like Nixon). But of course that won't happen unless more of them see it is in their OWN political self interest to turn on him. That's starting to happen but I wouldn't make any predictions on how much that might grow.

As Trump has stated, Cohen is a "weak person" who is only lying to get himself a lighter sentence.

Too predictable....

[Before he boarded Air Force One on Thursday, Trump took a few swipes at Cohen, calling Cohen "very weak" and accusing Cohen of "lying."

This is Cooperator Bashing 101 -- standard, textbook stuff from a frightened target of a criminal probe. As Trump seems to understand, cooperating witnesses often pose the gravest threat to the leaders of closed, corrupt, hierarchical organizations.]

I wish it were the case.

The Republicans still are preventing the House Intelligence Committee do a lot of the things it would like to do and which it should do to carry out proper oversight and in the Senate they still won't allow a vote on Flake's bill to protect Mueller despite Sen. Flake's carrying out of his threat to withhold his vote on Trump judge nominations.

Trump will fight to the bitter end and even beyond that. You only have to look at his monumental fights with his creditors and those who have sued him in court over his fraudulent business dealings.

He will die before he stops fighting.

He is an out and out crook and they never admit to any wrongdoing, never feel any guilt and always try to manipulate others for their benefit. It is their very existence.

The few whom the Russians have not compromised.

I don't think it's that. I think almost all of the republicans have been intimidated by "trump" because if they don't support him they will probably be primaried out by more "trump"y republicans opponents. Also of course most have been willing to put up with his insanity to get right wing judges, big tax cuts for the wealthy, etc. which is part of the more normal republican agenda.

If Trump's approval rating drops below 30%, then his hardcore base is also weakening and that would give some spine to some Rep. Senators up for re-election in 2020 to turn on Trump.

In comparison by the end of his presidency in 1974, Nixon’s approval rating had dropped to 24%.

It is commonly known as radioactivity. One wants to be as far away from the radioactive leak, as possible, to avoid massive contamination.

But so far most haven't cracked. So it's hard to know if they ever will until they do.

Introducing: Individual 1.

Does "trump" seem more freaked out and unhinged than usual (which is saying a lot because his base line is bat sheit crazy)?

Well, there is good reason.
Things are getting close.

He's as guilty as (deleted)

He knows it, we know it, even his fans know it but they don't care because they're more about the cult of personality than the good of the nation.

‘Individual 1’: Trump emerges as a central subject of Mueller probe

In two major developments this week, President Trump has been labeled in the parlance of criminal investigations as a major subject of interest, complete with an opaque legal code name: “Individual 1.”

New evidence from two separate fronts of special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s investigation casts fresh doubts on Trump’s version of key events involving Russia, signaling potential political and legal peril for the president. Investigators have now publicly cast Trump as a central figure of their probe into whether Trump’s campaign conspired with the Russian government during the 2016 campaign.

Won't happen, too many in the US want MAWA. That is his base, and they don't care at all about what happens, they'll support him till the bitter end.

Yes. Absolutely. His staff say he is even more sour than usual. How is that possible? Since his crushing defeat Nov 6th he has been very humiliated, and he cannot hide it. He is not handling it well. And his allies in the Senate are sensing his vulnerability and it is emboldening them.

He is going to go down in flames. Mueller is going to crush him like a bug. Cohen has spilled the beans and Trump is just not intelligent enough to handle this. He will entrap himself.

Your right about beans but Mueller was hired to investigate Russian Collusion to interfere in the 2016 election ! The beans don't amount to anything but process crimes. Cohen lied to the congress

So, a liar, calling a liar a liar... Who would have thunk? ????

Yes. A liar who asked a liar to lie for him under oath. I beleive that is called subornation of perjury and is considered an offense unto itself. Trump is in deep doo doo.

In American law, Scots law and under the law of some English-speaking Commonwealth nations, subornation of perjury is the crime of persuading a person to commit perjury, the swearing of a false oath to tell the truth in a legal proceeding, whether spoken or written.

The special prosecutor is not limited in the scope of his investigation. He can investigate anything he wants just a Kenneth Starr did with Clinton. Trump has more skeletons in his closet than a Papuan Highlander cannibal. He is going down for any of a high number of offenses. Collusion is just the tip of the iceberg.

Ok

Something to keep in mind.

Trump has an acute narcissistic personality disorder, people with NPD fear one thing above all else ‘being exposed and humiliated’.

Trump’s behaviour now is his NPD playing out, he’s in utter personal turmoil.

Those expecting Trump to hand out pardons or protect people who have been loyal to him (including his own children) are in for a disappointment.

Trump is thrashing about desperately trying to escape being exposed and humiliated, he hasn’t an ounce of thought for anyone else.

Brace yourself for a months long extinction burst like you’ve never even dreamed could be possible.

If you are worried that Trump may go un-punished (he will not), then for the time being observe the agony he’s going through now and the spectacle of him going completely insane in the months ahead.
