Sysphus Pt. 1~4 from Floyd's masterful '69 Ummagumma LP.

No 1 for Xmas in UK.

Several Species Of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave And Grooving With A Pict.  Might be the record for the song with the longest title?

Are you suggesting a poll, Andrew?

I'd vote 'annoying' but that would only be true if I had to watch them.  But I don't have to . . . LOL

I had to paste this appropos remark from the vid's comment section.

1960: I bet the future will have amazing music

2018: ‘the number 1... we built this city on sausage rolls!’

No poll please !!

A couple of their videos are quite funny, one where he covers her car with a skin photo of him in various photos is worthy of a watch.

But they have outstayed their welcome and the fact that this is the Xmas number one in the UK ( a highly disputed accolade) shows how British people are easily pleased !!

Rod Stewart's new album BLOOD RED ROSES is pretty good..........for a 75 year old. Better than Macca's.

No. 1 X-Mas song?  But where's the reference to Christmas?  I don't see one.  Unless it's the Santa cap he's wearing and some of the other Christmas paraphernalia (which were probably all made in China, LOL).

This pleases me!  LOL

What happened to you Heather?,hope you are well.

Ya'll have a Merry Christmas wherever you are.  Thanks for all the great music.  Greatest gift anyone could give.

Merry Christmas to you too Tippaporn, Andrew, Slaps, DB, and all other posters for introducing me and others to some great old and new music over the year.

Thanks Tippers for that Phosphorescent track, I've never heard of them before.

Here's another one of theirs.

Mai pen rai, bannork.  And vice versa on the musical gifts passed around this year.

Yeah, that's a wonderfully lovely tune.  Here's another Phosphorescent song that I can put on repeat.  A bit melancholy but I loves it.  Love the accompanying vid of the 1940's Chinook sled dogs, too.

Don't think we're gonna get much snow this year in Udon Thani province!

Sweet!  He's got quite a bit of very worthy material.

I had mentioned before that my son was out here for 6 month stretches for a few years and, being tired of the same old tunes, we scoured YT looking for good, new music.  Phosphorescent was one of the artists we found along our journey.  Now, granted, we sifted through what was to us a lot of terrible stuff.  Whenever we would find a good artist we would plug in 'artists name mix' and we'd get fed a playlist of similar music.  Some playlists would be pretty good, others not so, but every now and then we'd hit a 'gold mine.'

Lots of talented indies out there.  And from all over the world.  Most of the material I post in this thread are from those artists we've discovered.  So you'll notice a lot of very recent release dates.  And in my mind we've unearthed music that's as good as anything produced in the 60's and 70's.

Here's a very talented Aussie gal, Tash Sultana, and she's tits on guitar (double entendre as her tits are literally on her guitar as well (excuse my poor taste in humour)).  She can smoke on that guitar.  Went to an Aussie wedding this past summer and folks flew in from Australia.  Talking music at times and apparently she's well known amongst the younger crowd.

I'd blow my windows out on this guitar solo, sure . . .

Lots of very good new folk music out there.  Here's Johnny Flynn, a South African born British musician, with The Lady Has Risen, off his 2013 release, Country Mile.

Sol Seppy, a British gal who grew up in Greece and Australia, off her 2006 The Bells Of 1 2 release.

Scottish singer/songwriter Paolo Nutini performing Caledonia live at Garage Glasgow.

Sisters from Sweden, First Aid Kit on The Lion's Roar, from the 2012 release of same name.  I can't figure out how Swedes ended up with a southern drawl but such are the mysteries of life.

Here's First Aid Kit performing at the Ploar Music Awards, given to Emmylou Harris in 2015.  It's a beautiful tribute number, not only to Emmylou but to Gram Parsons, June carter, and Johnny Cash as well, and it brought Emmylou to tears.

DB turned me on to the San Fran psychedelic band Wooden Shjips on this thread.  Black Smoke Rise off their 2011 West release.

Another very good Aussie band out of Sydney, The Jezabels.  A Little Piece off of the 2011 Prisoner release.

Love this Austin, Texas garage band.  They fill my need for hard and intense rock.  The Black Angels on The Sniper At The Gates Of Heaven from the 2006 Passover release.

Another great find, IMO.  Wonderful style.  The Raveonettes, a Danish garage rock duo on Curse The Night from their 2012 Observator release.

Anyone who likes the above check out their material on YT.  They've got a lot of great stuff.  I found them when my son was back stateside and Skype'd him the link.  He said I was doing pretty good for an old fart.

This is Recharge & Revolt from their 2011 release, Raven In The Grave.

Anyway, I'm getting hungry and I think I post too much.  Me bad sometimes.  Prolly bad a lot but I can live with myself, LOL.

No snow, for sure, but ya got some ice, bannork?  I'm out.  I'm just a stone's throw from you in Huai Mek.  You deliver the ice and I'll provide the beer.
