British football fan arrested for wearing Qatar shirt in UAE

 

Ali Issa Ahmad, a 26-year-old from Wolverhampton, travelled to the UAE in January and attended an Asian Cup match between Qatar and Iraq. 

Mr Ahmad attended the matched wearing a Qatar shirt, unaware that the UAE has made it illegal to show any support for its Gulf neighbour.

I've worn Manchester United shirts all over the world got me a few free beers 

I heard that yesterday and the first thing that came to my mind was “what an idiot” then I thought maybe he was unaware of the hostilities, then I thought “what an even bigger idiot”
