Says it all, really - what president goes on holiday, during an emergency?

Here's a live picture from the true crisis national emergency zone showing a sneaky interloper trying to get in:

Amazing what a president has to go through to implement a piece of infrastructure for the good of all Americans.

At least he does what he promised to do.

Then he should have just done this immediately, without the idiotic and unnecessary government shutdown. It's also not an emergency. Illegal migration along the Southern boarder is down 80% since the year 2000 and down 60% since 2008. Wasn't an emergency then. :1zgarz5:

Please don't take the bait when a troll brings up something completely off-topic.   I have no idea how you think we are going to jump from the US-Mexico Border to Obamacare and the Green Deal.

What, make Mexico pay for the wall, the big beautiful wall that will look like a garden trellis IF attempted to complete.

What a joke and what a sad jokester.

And as long as all the Republicans, and Republicans only, are willing to fund the Billions of dollars required to build the stupid wall between themselves - nobody cares what he does.

After all, why should the others pay for something all these Trendy Wendy Republication keep spouting on about - "Mexico will pay for the wall"? Why should honest and decent taxpayers dip their hands in their pockets?

Republican problem - no-one else's!

Not so fast there has been talk of using El Chapo seized drug money (14 billion) to pay for it.  Trump has played Pelosi once again - she is senile and needs to be replaced along with Biden and the whole lot of old folks home politicians hanging around and filling their corrupt pockets.

There is no evidence that El Chapo actually ever had 14 billion dollars - that's just a Department of Justice estimate of how much money the entire Sinaloa cartel should have made, based on the amount of drugs they're estimated to have trafficked. Even if he had made that much (some estimates put his personal stash as low as $1 billion) it still doesn't mean that it's anywhere where the US authorities can get their hands on it.

Don't watch CNN. Here's the numbers. Just the facts...which are still facts regardless of one's opinion of them.

So how many illegal aliens do you think should be allowed in the country?

Beyond the current funding fiasco, the proposed Southern Border barrier currently has a shortfall of approx $15 billion to complete. How will trump obtain the additional funding?

Where did the cost estimate come from?  The initial cost was based on his 30' high reinforced wall with a very deep footing to prevent tunneling.  The cost was based on $4700/foot. The current plan is for Bollard fencing.  They completed 58 miles of Bollard fencing during the Obama administration at a cost well below $1000/foot.  Mnunchen better go back and sharpen his pencil and I'm surprised that congress hasn't picked up on the over estimate/foot!

Where did the cost estimate come from? - From recent media reports.

The extra $5 billion trump is trying to obtain claims to only cover an additional 234 miles of 'barriers' In total there are currently 1279 miles unfenced.

Would an additional $15 billion be sufficient? Don't know if land acquisition costs are included in the costings.

Legitimate question and of course zero should be the answer, albeit unrealistic. Granted, 400k is still a big number, but my opinion makes no difference. I was just providing the factual numbers, which were denied by some...but actually have come down considerably over the past 20 years.

Less people getting arrested could just mean more people getting through, yes?

No...that is not the way it works. Was anticipating such flawed logic. The stats are measured by the number of apprehensions. This quote from a Forbes article...

Apprehensions are considered a proxy for illegal entry, so the fewer apprehensions, the less illegal entry.

money wisely to be spent by the first president takes border security seriously.

in comparison to tax money waster obama who propelled the us deficit from 10.5 trilliion to

19.8 trillion during his tenure w/o border security.

Considering currently twice as many arrive by air and overstay 'illegals' what exactly is the policy articulated by trump to address this issue.

Beyond the current funding fiasco, the proposed Southern Border barrier currently has a shortfall of approx $15 billion to complete. How will trump obtain the additional funding?

trump has diverted around $2.3 billion billion away from US Defence Dept for counter narcotics activity; why, was the program a failure? trump constantly lies about the volume of narcotics entering the US through official ports of entry; why?

trump repeatedly lies and misinforms regards stats to support his "Wall". trump call out his own government agency stats as lies, claiming only his 'gut instincts' represent the truth; why?

At this stage trump is acting as an autocrat, undermining the Constitution, yet those within the Republican party with the Constitutional remit to stop this trend are failing the people of the US; why?

Even if the numbnuts could understand the questions , they would refuse to answer them.

Can you specify exactly what those national emergencies were.

After all you claimed it, but posted no links or references as to what they were.

I’m guessing you didn’t get past the headline huh?

I wonder why they are so selective with the data the present?

The article seems to be bouncing all over, I guess that’s what happens when an author starts out with a headline they need to justify.

These are the figures released from ICE on illegal aliens that were arrested in the past 2 years.  Despite being only 3% of the USA population, illegals represent 20% of the total population in the U.S. federal penitentiaries.   There were 73,000 deaths from opiods in the USA last year.  80% of it comes across the Mexico/U.S. border.  What do you call an emergency.  The opiod deaths alone are greater than the deaths in the Vietnam. war.
