Replace thermostat for aircon?

It's a 10 year old Toshiba aircon which works totally okay except even if the handset is set to 28 degree it doesn't stop cooling down much further. Install a new thermostat? What to watch out for?

Does the remote work at all?

The thermostat should be in the air return.

Assuming all the other functions are working on the remote and you get “beeps” when changing the temp it is likely the “thermostat”.

You're right I`m getting all the beeps. Everything works normal, except even at 28 degree it keeps cooling down. Does a thermostat have to be typo specific or" Generic"?

For an old unit like that, there should be some generic around that will work, the issue is knowing what and where...

One of the decent service/repair shops should be able to hook you up.
