Uni student gets sex offers: says shop owner put spy app on her phone during repairs

A Khon Kaen university student went to the police after she said that the owner of a mobile repair shop put an application on her phone to spy on her at home.

Miss Thanatporn, 20, told Sanook that she then started getting offers of sex from men on her Line account.

The police have done nothing and let the owner of the store go despite his frivolous excuses.

Thanatporn told Sanook that she went to the shop behind Khon Kaen uni where she studies. She initially agreed to pay 1,500 baht for repairs but when a further problem occurred she agreed to another 700 baht.

When she got home she saw there was an application called "Alfred" on her screen.

This application - used by many people on old phones to act as a home security device - can be activated using another phone to spy on an individual.

Within minutes on her Line account she realized she had been listed on a "Work in Khon Kaen" site that acts as a group for sex meet ups.

Soon four men wanted to have sex with her.

She said that the Alfred app was registered to the owner of the shop. She went to police with this information and the cops called in the owner.

He blamed a virus. Pressed about his email being on the victim's phone he said: "A customer at the shop may have played with her phone".

The cops let him go.

But Thanatporn intends to press on with the case. She warned other women going to mobile phone shops about her experience.

Nothing gets done without an envelope.

Wonder what he charges just to install the "UniGirl Working" line groups. Don't need a repair or spy app. ????

Perhaps she should take the offers as a compliment. She doesn't have to respond to them.

Cue the wailing Greek chorus of PC's and feminists.
