Mid season draft is an interesting idea.

Imagine you were a club with goal kicking issues but on the cusp of making the finals. Your top forward has been injured in round 4. out for the season

Mid way through the season you recruit yourself a top forward from a rival club

The club you recruit the forward from then goes from being near the finals to missing out

Your club makes the finals

would the prized free agents have to wait until the end of the year or could they go mid season and play finals.

Nathan Buckley advocated the mid season draft last year when Collingwood had a lot of injuries, mentioning it would be a good way to top up with a defender.

i wouldn't like to see players switching clubs mid season.

I'm all for a mid-season draft.

I'm not sure how the Premier League works, but they do have a loan system in place.

Just imagine this scenerio, if Teddy Richards went down and WC offered Mitch Brown

for Tom Mitchell until the end of the season.

That's just an example but If it was a win/win for both clubs, I cannot see why not.

It would take a lot of tinkering though.

West Coast ahead at half time..

Will they be rueing their poor kicking during that 2nd quarter at full time?

They will have to steady. Money still on the coasters.

Sorry BookMan but tipped against the swans.

It's a goal fest. WCE.

8.1 shuffler

Another.

Gaffs going to kick one soon.

9 goals by the 3rd quarter.

Can he get 12 for the game?

Nice to have such a good supply.

Did anyone pick this large a margin? Good to see Kennedy kicking 10 goals with time left to kick more. Will27 you will be very happy.

I am mate.

The only downside is, I after I read David Kings article, I reduced my margin from 27 points to 11tongue.png

I tipped 11 also.

Carlton were awful. If you are a Carlton supporter book your holidays for during the finals season as you wont be watching your team play.

Will, how did that performance compare to the Eagles against the doggies last week?

Mate, we're probably a 5 or 6 goal better side at home.

Carlton were dreadful as well. I reckon they might finish bottom 3.

We still lack a few quality midfilelders and elite kicks. The chips certainly taste

better when you're winning thoughtongue.png

Gents..

This may be my last note in this thread...

I'll be venturing deep into enemy territory tomorrow night at the Adelaide Oval...

I've promised the wife to be on my best behaviour, but, knowing the odds are not in my favour I pray that West End Draft will not be the last beer I ever taste tongue.png

Enjoy the singalong

The Western Bulldogs v Richmond is a cracking game..

Bulldogs looking good and ahead by 14 at half time.

Costly set shot misses from Richmond

EDIT:

Melbourne leading GWS 39-9 midway through teh 2nd Q

I have switched to a link for that. Melbourne looking good this year

Yep, watching that one as well.

I wonder if the WB can keep it going.

Melbourne look to be the big improver so far this year

and GWS might've slipped.

Dogs have continually found space and free players inside the forward 50. Set shots and running into goal. Almost too easily

At the other end Richmond have struggled to find players free

Crikey. GWS came out in the 3rd and blitzed melbourne with 60 points

Phew, just viewed the first quarter of the Port/Sydney game.

I'm exhausted just from watching it!

What a grind it was.

Syd a couple of goals up.
