Well my 2 cents worth, not to mozzarella my team I shall refrain...

The rest of the best are, there is one last hurrah for the Blues then I expect curtins for them...Cant go past the Giants......Lions at home hard to beat....

The press are like a bull terrier with a bone in its mouth over Grundy....well I may be wrong I thought there was some vision there for the near future but gees Max is almost a done dinner as in roasted, like really he's on the way out and fast, apart form Grundy we do not have a ruckman in stock....call up Bunnings you say? well I really don't care as I don't put much into having high priced lopers running around unless they play like Lizard Max who's beginning to play like a limp lobster more often than not, Leaver a Demon for life....another one...so you know what its going to be like in 2 or 3 ys time as we are floundering between 14th and 8th.....a bunch of over 30's on life contracts...wonder if they signed up Alex Neal Bullen....no news on him or I may have just missed it, watch next season as leave it to Beaver and Bullen have dog day seasons...

It's really easy to see who's coming up for renewal hey? Then its really easy to see who just signed a long term contract...

I have no idea about AFL but are you sure Sydney to beat Carlton??

Brodie Grundy activated 10 min into the last quarter, kicks the winning goal after the siren.......

A fortune teller once told me......good book by the way, and no it never came true...he lived but it helped he didnt fly for a year just went everywhere by boat...so maybe it was true?

Oh Uncle Alex

If you had a key forward, you're winning that game easily IMO.

69 - 37 insides 50's.

Don't worry about Brodie Grundy, try and get yourself a foward.

Losing Brayshaw didn't help.

Meant you couldn't use Trac forward.

Yeap...Brayshaw was a big out, Maynard in my mind in raising the arm instead of trying to wrap himself around should see him rested for the prelim, but they tend to be more leinent finals time.

For sure 4 at least 5 out on the full around goal, and a couple more easy shots for behinds....well it's bad footy isn't it?  I thought we had there measure second half, like there good on the break, the push up to keep them in out half of the ground almost done it.

You know a lot of players were all butterfingers, Neal Bullen, Petracca early, even big Max early, lot of them just couldn't get a decent kick or hand ball off.....lets say the pressure or the thought of the pressure coming...

McAdam from Crows wants to come who ever he is, another small forward do we need? then what of Spargo? ho he's being shipped off to North then?

Big Tom was all at sea poor fella out since round 11 3 games at Casey took him 3 quarters to get the feel again.

You know Will, I don't buy into the we need a forward, its crap delivery, what I do think we need is a revamp on how we play forward of centre, im kinda leaning towards a new forward coach as well...Greg Stafford is the man for heavens sake he was ruckman...I know they love him but honestly we must be the worst forward team in the comp...

Anyway it's all good....they had a red hot go can't ask for anymore...

Pretty good 1st week of finals.

I know it's a winter sport but frustrating to watch the best sides not be able to display their best skills,

I agree with Kane Cornes, but not on the Maynard issue, Demons need to think ouside of the box, Time for Grundy to take over number 1 ruck, Gawn to now go forward entire game against the Blues, I would add that there not meant to be any closer than 50 meters from each other, from here its my thinking, Grundy to play across the centre and defence, Gawn to play wing to wing and that traditional centre half forward role, Tom MacDonald full forward, Pertracca 70% forward 30% in the middle, Picket to start each quarter in the centre, he normally has blinders where doing this, Smith? back to medical sub, great when he comes on second half, not effective when he gets the entire game on the ground, be looking for runners to come in, Tell Max to handball to his runners rather than his blindly kicking it forward, and off course, stop bombing it in, Forwards to take some of the backmen for runs get that forward line uncongtested, make some god dam leads and look for them, Blues to good in the air and twice as many talls and in top form, yup need to think outside of the box a bit ...well think half the planet thinks like me...recon I could make a half decent line coach there?

But knowing how Goodwin thinks and his side kicks they will likely bring in one of the dud talls we have prob Josh Schache played about 2 games I will turn off the telly if he's playing...wont get a kick...Harry Petty on crutches would do a better job, just Grundy Simon, we know he can play, Max forward its a no brainer, small running forward line to either feed off crumbs or be quick enough to stop the Blues scramble it out,......simple I thinks...by the way that Rhalp think he writes for the Sun is a dick....

The drums are very loud about Grundy to the Swans. Their ruckmen have all retired after hearing the rumours.

Sounds like it's a done deal Rip.

God knows why he went to Melbourne in the first place.

Well the talk has turned to thunder, BIG foot in mouth, ( head sways from side to side) what was that you say? what? who? Ho!!!! signed on for 2 more years? Really?

Look we can't blame Simon can we? nooooo it was our forward coach, ex Tiger and Swan Stafford doing the dirty deed, easy path way for Brodie to go to harbour town....was a hack ruckman if my memory serves me right...so id like to know how he got to be forward line coach?

IDC...I don't care, 3 ys we been playing that forward line the same way, even longer maybe...

Anyway Brodes didnt set the world on fire at the G RIP.....think he's a long way from that million $ deal he signed a few years ago but better than what you had, like I watch all the games and I can tell you first hand none of us Demon supporters knew what they were doing with Grundy, did they give it a chance to work? no I don't think so, with rotations finding them 2 on the bench at different times kinda hard to spot in the forward line for than 5 min a quarter.....ho impact you say....(half jokingly)....

Spargo is in so that means 2 good games and a respectable one coming up assuming we get that far...Tomlinson? he is a bit loose but we need the height in the backline, they should give this guy a decent run you know....and Jordan, all the dud teams like North are chasing him...another Spargo type but lacks Spargo's class...think we call him the everywhere man, been playing back line, mid, wing and even wingman on a mission for the Indians on the way to the moon....why would you offer him a contract?

Well I feel a lot better knowing Martin is out.....he cut us up last time...GWS to stick it up Port.....have the experience and form to do it...sim salsa bin larden.....

Exciting game of footy last night.

Ended up being an almost year for your boys Alex.

Can't say they didn't give their all,Simon just needs to get the right finisher's up front.

Voss wasn't going to go down wondering with Acres,McGovern and Kemp the deepest three forwards with the match winning goal.

Look forward to tonight to see what Port and GWS sides turn up.

Another wasted year for the Demons.

Out in straight sets twice now.

16.28 in two games ain't going to win you too many finals.

Schache as sub was a strange one.

Back up for Gawn but why not sub out McDonald and give him a run?

They need to do everything in the off-season to get a key forward.

Certainly was a game for Demons to lose. They chopped it. It happens. Pies v Blues final. Yeah baby.

It was "Born Under a Bad Sign" mr Fj, if we "didnt have bad luck we would have no luck at all"....so Jack Bruce would say.

The worst thing about loosing last night is Blues supporters will think they're in with a chance next week....Gees they were beaten for 99 minuets last night...talk about Norm Smiths Curse resurfacing.....naaaa he loves us all.....I hope...

Now the dust has settled and im calm and got my act together I will respond.....

Shocking hey? well.....we been playing that forward system for like at least 5s years now, so its the Goodwin Philosophy, hence my alarm and apprehension on the fella getting a new 2 year extension....but in fairness Simon pulled a new rabbit out of the hat a few times late in the year to get us moving, could we improve the coach with a new one? Not sure there, I actually like his commentary before and after games, slowly he is winning me over but to get me total needs to ditch the bang it forward and hope for the best result.

2021 we had a dream run with injuries and Macdonald in particular was firing, Ben Brown was doing well along with Jackson and Gawn was stepping up and kicking a few too....plus Spargo and Fritch had outstanding years.

Last year was hangover year, so normal, this year? well in the wash up Ben Brown hardly made It on the park with his banged up knee, thanks Fj he only had one year in him ......rookie Van Rooyen showed some class but far from a Jackson, hey that's why 2 first round picks make it easy to take, Big Tom goers down in round 11 and out for 12 weeks but sure he's far from 2021 form, what's he bring to the team? not sure but unless he has a cracker next year im sure they won't renew his contract now pushing 30 even + expect for Tom to be like 21 again next year...like Neal Bullen this year its contract time again....so he's on just BBQ red meat again from Xmas...ho you didnt know? after Goodwin tried to off load him trade week he went on some crazy meat eating diet....Harry Petty, well I seen him as a classic centre half back but hey he did well at half forward, another injury we dint need.

Looks like Adam Yze could be the coach of the Tigers if so hopefully he will take Greg Stafford with him leaving Simon to find a midfield and forward coach, what ever im sure theres going to be a shake up with line coaches this year.

Do we need new tall timber? well if B Brown can get over the knee thing I think not, you need some good luck to get to the GF, unless we go after one of the King boys nothing much available, Schache just makes up the numbers on the depth roster so forget about him, and no mate would not have got a kick, can't believe they did not pick Grundy as the sub, made a lot of sense, Brown Petty MacDonald van Rooyen takes care of that I think, really its all in the delivery, what ever you do don't start me on that, in the Blues game I seen twice Viney just bang it in when he had options and in good positions to score...thats the mids, they don't look to much, I think they are under instructions to just bang it in, been going on for years....

We picked it up when Williams came on to the coaching panel, think we need a few more fresh insights there again, unless we can sweet talk some key forward not up for trade to ask for a move im in favour of going to the draft and look to the future so we can stay in contention......which in the long run gives you a real crack at a flag every 7 to 10 ys.....

GOOD NEWS.....Yze appointed coach of the Tigers, well done son, was one of my fav players way back when, now.....we can hopefully get a few new line coaches with the balls to over ride one Simon about how we approach that forward zone.....

Pies held strong. Blues win today but pies win everything. It's written already.

Tigers lose another lot of stars soon. Grimes , Prestia, Dusty all gone in a year. Will take a while. Think the new coach will be very frustrated. Why do you think Harddick ran away?

Hope tonights game lives up expectations.

Cracking game last night, sad there has to be a winner and loser in those situations.

Thought generally well umpired except for a few guys getting their heads ripped off.

Have to disagree FJ.

I thought the umpiring was poor, especially after halftime.
