I have found the best prices for tvs are on Lazada, with free delivery as well.

I tend to agree but with the Songkran (i assume) deals you sometimes get really good deals

Power buy have "deal of the day" Samsung 49 inch smart TV for 12,990B (41% discount). I think you can pay COD or counter service.

https://www.powerbuy.co.th/en/

Sounds like a fairly good deal.

I bought a 49inch non-smart samsung on lazada for 11300B sixteen months ago.

Would be good for the OP to check Lazada price for the same model number before buying from powerbuy. May be able to save 10%-20% on lazada.

I saw a 49 inch Samsung Smart at Chalong Homepro at 11,300 today. In fact they had two: one curved, one flat.

I agree. Chalong HomePro has some good specials.

Edit - but I never buy Samsung. Too many repairs over the years to TV and fridges. Sharp my favourite. Sony if price right.

Thanks to all so far! much appreciated, its almost as though these forums are designed for this ????

Quite correct. I well remember the original Phuket local forum which offered helpful local advise.  But sadly these days it's mostly about trolling and stupid posts from members who know little about Phuket Island and don't live or frequent here.

Most of my TVs are Samsung, never had a problem with them. A different story with LG and Panasonic.

We also have a small, 12 volt, no name Chinese Tv in a spare room that has a brilliant picture.  Cost something like 25 baht or thereabouts.

Good.

can you tell us what you got, where you finally got it, and if it was a deal?

LG 55" i got from Powerbuy in the "old" central - I believe it was a good deal at THB16k ISH I chose this as it is super slim and has the "magic" remote with built in mouse thingy and because its the one that fits in the space i have available ????

I have to mention that the guy was super helpful UNTIL we decided on the model and then they didnt have stock! Long story short we got a little more discount and its delivered today.....

I disagree. Yes Lazada show some sellers with usually better prices than many local shops, but the local shops - mainly big ones - have very regularly promotions with prices way better than Lazada

Perfect example, as in December I bough my UHD 4K TV in a PowerBuy shop,

during one "Deal of the Week" promotions .

Reduced price was way below anything else I could find on the Internet,

and as it's a local shop it will be a lot easier to have it repaired/fixed if ever it failed.

I suppose it depends on what a person needs.

if there is a specific tv someone wants, you may be waiting forever for it to go on sale at a local shop(if it ever does go on sale). In this case, you can usually get the current best price and convenience on Lazada, including a normal warranty and lazada pickup if it breaks-down within a year.

if someone is willing to accept the random promotions offered at local shops, and potentially wait it out, then you may be able to scoop-up a deal on what the local shops want to offer at that specific time.
