Tire recommendations for a PCX?

Featured Replies

Because of the upcoming rainy season, I'd like to get new tires for my PCX. I read somewhere that there are tires that are much better in the rain than the stock PCX tires.

Any suggestions?

I think the best advise might be stay off the roads if you can for the first few big down pours as the oil accumulated on the roads when mixed with water is very slippery.

Roads especially in Bangkok become like a skating rink regardless of tires fitted. But yes as you say some are better at wet weather than others. Don't forget the grippier tyres will wear quicker. There is always a trade off.

Pirelli SL38 but I've never used them as my Vespa had 10 inch wheel and not available

As you know it is about what is available locally

Michelin City grips are touted by the Vespa guys. If you can find them.

Metzeler tires should be good as well

If you can't find any of these brands near you, you can also order them online

When i had tires fitted which i bought somewhere else i paid 120THB for it (also a PCX)

Had Michelin tyres on my scoot and Deestone tyres didn't find any different in wet, only price and wear.
