Telling a barber 'leave one inch'

Featured Replies

Go to a salon where the girls speak English and are used to accommodating the wishes of clients. If you are in Pattaya you could pm me. I have no problem getting what I want. And i ask for something more complicated than you do.

I guess I’m lucky in this respect I just ask for a number 2 and that’s what I get on the sides, the top stays as it has for the last few years...........shiny !!

  • Seems so trivial and ridiculous really. Just shave it all like I do. TG's actually like a clean bald look..

"Tell 'em what you want, and they'll give you the only cut they know how to do" seems to be the rule here.

In Thailand, I have my hair cut to #4, no problem.

When I started work in Myanmar, I went to the local barber and asked them to cut it to #4.

They asked 'Are you sure?' (because my hair was a little long).

'Sure, definitely' I replied.

Whereupon the barber promptly cut my hair to within 1 mm of my skull.....

Apparently in Myanmar, the numbering system for clippers isn't the same as in Thailand .... ????????????

I can see a need for an Asean conference to agree an Asean-wide hair-clipper numbering system.
