Yes the real problem is there are no official rubbish dumps,I've never read many news articles about Pattaya rubbish....never a single time has the location of the official dumps been published...if there are any in the Pattaya vicinity why are they being "kept secret" ?

There are a few around but I don't know if they are open to the public to dump trash. One processing area is in Nong Pla Lai between the Railway line Bypass Rd and Sukhumvit. The regular garbage trucks take all their stuff there, it gets some sorting and at night they sneak out some double trailer loaded up with trash, that heads off up Hwy 36 towards Rayong.

Yes I thought the nearest official  dump site was in Rayong...but there is never any mention about its whereabouts ( or any other official site) in any of the press releases...surely if you want to encourage people  not to "fly tip"  (illegal dumping) there first has to be places where they can legally get rid of stuff, they have to be widely advertised so they are known to everyone..then there have to be heavy penalties for continuing to "fly tip".

Its maybe a small consolation that  much of the easily recyclable stuff is scavenged from the roadside tips by a large number of scavengers..the dogs, cats, birds and insects take most of the waste food

what's left is largely building rubble and assorted plastic...still horrid to look at.

Just think, many Thais think this is acceptable. -Just proof Thailand is still a developing country. ( This is why the wealthier & educated Thais flock to Japan & Singapore. They love the cleanliness and orderly surroundings.)

Not sure what this says about the farangs????
