Two members of the same family have been arrested for separate rapes.

The 40 year old uncle - a former monk - savagely raped a 78 year old woman at a Krabi temple.

His 22 year old nephew dragged a 14 year old into a bedroom while her parents were out and raped her.

Yesterday they were both arrested on warrants.

Thonglor Thaweebutr, 40, was arrested by the Crime Suppression Division in a cassava field in Kanchanaburi.

Anon Thaweebutr was nabbed by the CSD in Suphanburi.

On the 13th of March police investigated in Krabi after a 78 year old woman said she went to pick fruit by the temple of Wat Khuan Mai.

A monk armed with a knife accosted her and dragged her into his quarters in the temple where he raped her.

He was Thonglor who soon fled. He told police yesterday that he was drunk when he raped the woman and that he had also been watching pornography.

During the hunt for Thonglor police discovered that he had stayed with his nephew in Suphanburi. They checked out the history of the nephew and discovered that he was wanted on a warrant for the rape of a 14 year old girl.

He had gone to her house and discovering that her parents were out he had dragged her to her bedroom and raped her.

Both men are now in custody and facing rape charges.

Poor eyesight? Hope they keep him locked up for a long time, and perhaps do some surgery as suggested by Nong Khai Man.

So one likes older ladies, while the other underage children,

they need locking up for a very long time,as i expect they

will commit the same crimes when released.

Of course it's Thailand, the clue is in the title of this forum.

Obviously, in this case, the apple didn't fall far from the tree.

Perhaps they'll have some brief time in jail/prison before getting released to ponder what their next assaults will be.

Thai males' crime excuse #327:  drunk and watching porn....

I figured it was either going to be that or the old favorite....

Thai males' crime excuse #12: got aroused and couldn't control myself.

So they only caught the nephew by accident because they were looking for the uncle? There was a warrant out for the nephew's arrest but the local police couldn't find him. Baffling to say the least

Enforced celibacy of clergy is a very bad idea. It has been a disaster for the Catholic Church. It is certainly not a good idea for Buddhist monks.
