webfact Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 Top Lampang official writes will, murders wife, fails in suicide attempt then flees Thai caption: HE WROTE HIS WILL....then murdered his wife A police hunt is on in Lampang in northern Thailand for a senior "tessaban" official who strangled his wife then fled after apparently failing to successfully hang himself from the banisters. A two page will was found on a desk. Pol Capt Bunchuay Lamanee of the Serm Ngam police responded to a call after a woman was found dead in bed on the third floor of a building. Rungthiwa, 35, was dressed in t-shirt and underpants and had been dead about six hours. Marks on her neck indicated she had been strangled. A two page note left on a desk identified the killer as Niran, 51, the head of the tessaban or local authority in the Sop Prap district of Lampang. He wrote that he was the victim's husband. Picture: Sanook On the banisters was a knotted green nylon rope. It is thought that Niran tried to hang himself but failed and fled the scene. He is now being hunted. Forensics were poring over the scene gathering all evidence including DNA samples, said Sanook. The body of the victim was taken for a detailed autopsy at Serm Ngam Hospital Souce: Sanook -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2019-07-12 Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking Thailand news and visa info

hotchilli Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 Sounds about the normal planning level & outcome of a top official ! 1 1
naboo Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Not sure the order if this is correct. It could be - strangled his wife, then knotted green nylon thread over a bannister in an attempt to make it look like suicide. He wrote his own will by mistake, he was trying to write hers but got confused. He was a head if tessaban, probably not the brightest cookie in the cookie jar. 2

Good points, covering up strangulation by staging a hanging...

It's a new series TV Silent Witness Thailand, following on from the BBC series about pathologists in the UK. The BBC series was two hours per episode. However, I can see the Thai version being over in five minutes, and only one series will ever be made, as they'll all be recorded as suicide. 1

MeePeeMai Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 RIP (Rest In Peace) to this beautiful woman. Her husband was a coward and didn't have the balls to kill himself. RIP (Rot In Prison) for him.
