Two Myanmar migrants killed, 7 others injured in Lampang van crash

Two Myanmar migrants were killed and seven others injured when a van transporting them from Tak to Chiang Rai hit a tree on a Lampang road early Tuesday, police said.

 

Pol Capt Kankawee Meetham, deputy inspector of Koh Kha police station, said the accident happened at 3.40am on a main road in Tambon Wang Prao.

 

The van fell into the ditch in the middle of the road and hit a tree.

 

Police said the Thai van driver, Phitsanu Sitthisungnone, 36, was injured along with his seven Myanmar passengers. The eight injured were rushed to the district hospital.

 

Police have yet to interrogate the driver and will consider charges against him. Police believe the driver fell asleep and lost control of the vehicle.

You would think it safer to travel through their own country first and cross the border at Mae Hong Son if indeed they crossed in from Tak because it doesn't say where they came from .

The power nap combining with the ditch of death makes for only one outcome.

It didnt fall into the ditch, it went of the road, and i do get fed up reading about it, the outcome would have been completely different if indeed it was a micro nap and the vehicle had veered into another van, but even with up to 30 fatalities in this scenario nobody would be shocked because its how it is.
