Best all-rounder 4 door (double cab) pick-up these days

I had a 2014 3.2 Ford Ranger Wildtrak. Great truck!  Test drove a 2018 Wildtrak 2.0 Bi-Turbo. Sold my 3.2 to my brother in law, bought a Bi-Turbo and love it!  The Bi-Turbo and the 10 speed transmission work well together. Adaptive cruise control is useful.  Brakes outstanding. Could use a few nooks and crannies to stow stuff in the cab. Otherwise, great.  ????????????

we bought a nissan narvara, calibre sportec 4 door 2 wheel drive, top of their range for 2 WD and its great. I have a bad spine and I find the seating extremely comfortable on long drives, all the mod cons in the cabin and get great mileage, it drives well too with plenty of power plus back seat area is good as well. Had it for 18 months and it hasnt missed a beat, we also have a toyota pick up(wifes work) and the nissan is far superior in comfort and ride, price wise it was a great buy as well

Nissan does offer a lot  but for some reason does not get the reviews or the sales all across the world.

In Thailand,i can only think its the resale. Have seen 1 year old going for 550000, new is 900 000

Why theyre   all made in Thailand and the reviews  would be in English for the phillipines and Australia, U.S  sites have  slagged  off the Ranger a bit heres a  test that said  what I did, wallowly handling which was my main complaint  on my test drives other sites  loved the handling not for me though.

TURBOS I was  referring to any turbo single  or  double, Ive never  had a "A"  turbo fail yet

As you know a biturbo is different to a turbo or twin turbo's. It is a far more complicated piece of kit, if it goes wrong what does it cost to fix or replace. As yet I cannot find the answer....

Check out online reviews from Australia they have the same models. Probably made in Thailand too.

Reviews are usually about new rides, what we should be interested in is what problems rides have after a few years....

Now for me, I would not get involved with a Ford 10 speed in LOS, and probably the bi-turbo too. In the USA I might feel a little different....

Agreed. Reviews have little value and a fair amount of them can be paid reviews so their value is even more questionable.

Join a couple of Ranger forums and get back to me about all these bad spooling turbo's and 10-speed boxes. Nobody talks much about leaking engine seals, the odd blown engine or glitchy transmissions these days. Those were an affliction of the first T6 or PX Rangers, around 2011 onwards. PX2 was a partial makeover in 2015 after most all of the bugs were shaken out. Now we are on the PX3 which, sharing major components with the Everest, so far appears to be a bereft of lemons. The main complaint I pick up from chatting with fellow members is Ford service in Australia with most gripes being about the cost rather than the quality. My experience of Ford service in Thailand has been good (and cheaper than Oz).

FWIW, the turbo's fitted to Ecoboost mills implanted in US-built Ford pickups are the same ones fitted to Ecoboost mills implanted in Thai-assembled Ford pickups.

A twin-scroll turbo is not 'a far more complicated piece of kit'. Ford's derivative has been driving their Focus RS's for (probably) millions of miles already.

Now if you're talking about twin Zenith Stromberg 175CD carburettors and the Harry Weslake tuned cylinder head on a Humber Super Snipe, then maybe you have something.

I went for the Mazda BT-50 Pro Hi-Racer 2.2 manual shift over the Ford (essentially the same truck) for two main reasons. One was value for money and the other being that I preferred the styling, especially the interior as it was more like a sedan than a truck. Seven years old now, 87,000 km trouble free motoring except for a new battery. Still looks great, the only item that shows any real sign of wear is the gear stick knob. Sailed through it's first road worthiness inspection. Done everything ever asked of it very well and I average just 7 litres/100 km fuel (about 40 mpg Imperial) which is great IMHO.

Yes there is, an  bigger  engine sizes are now  falling  to 2.5 and 2.0, better  fuel economy and just as much oooomph  with extra  gears

Yes engine sizes are falling and they are getting the same power out of them with bi-turbo, newer turbo technology  and more boost. Even if there are no concerns over turbo reliability, that small engine is going to be more highly stressed and that may impact reliability and lifespan of the engine itself. Have they made the engine tougher to cope ? Maybe, no way of knowing. I like the 2.8 Toyota engine for that reason. Not highly stressed, and  properly maintained they should go for years and years and big mileages.

I think its the best truck, and where I live in Udon Thani the Ford dealer network is excellent

Ford I'd the best selling truck line 50 years running.

my Ford is bulletproof, very happy, 10 years in the wilds of northern Canada, ZERO issues. Usual brakes tires. Never had that with a Chevy. Chevy was junk.

that being said Toyota is also a great vehicle.
