to make sure an installed device doesn’t obstruct foot and road traffic

You just know some will be placed on the path so

you cannot get past easily, just like other things obstruct

the paths now.

Did they buy them from the same people that made the Chenobyl radiation detectors ?

Purchased from same company that supplied the wrist bracelets.

Yes. Sometimes its the small steps. Like one cant expect to change transportation patterns overnight in a country thats only really been a "modern" country for 80 years or so, especially when it comes to things like air pollution, where even advanced places like LA cant fix it after 40 years of trying. In the richest country in the world.

So while they are working on their transport grid, hopefully, this will help more than spraying water.

Air quality in Bangkok and neighboring provinces has returned to normal after rain in recent days, which helped eliminate airborne particles. Latest air quality readings range from good to very good. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is to install and test run an air purifying tower situated below the Siam BTS Skytrain station on 8th October to gauge its effectiveness in PM 2.5 dust reduction.

1. What does normal mean?
2. The rain does not eliminate the 2.5 particles, but makes them fall to the ground and then be raised by the wind!
3. In the almost 25 years I live here, the air in Bangkok has never been good, very good then ...., now the dirty air is no longer just a problem in Bangkok!
4. Those who do not want to commit seriously to solve the problem, look for easy solutions, meaningless that, in the end, only damage!

From the above article "

A full-sized tower would reach 500 metres (1,640 feet) high with a diameter of 200 metres (656 feet), according to a patent application they filed in 2014.

The size of the greenhouses could cover nearly 30 square kilometres (11.6 square miles) and the plant would be powerful enough to purify the air for a small sized city."

So, just a matter of scale then.

Saddly the only way to make any progress in air quality , is mechanical , because the people of Thailand refuse to abide by any standards or laws...they just don't give a damn...

Also a matter of using "clean" energy to operate - solar energy.

Bangkok is likely energized by a largely polluting fossil fuel-based electric grid. So nothing gained.

As soon as the sun shines the water vapour will rise as nature intended and take the PM2.5 particles back up with it... getting rid of the particles at source is the only way to go..

What a daft idea .. but as they started it maybe everyone in Bangkok needs to get a leaf blower and just blast a path thru' on their way to wherever and to hell with towers .. And while they are at it next time the rain making planes are up there put some anti riot dye in the mix then the dastardly particles will glow like a rioter and be easily spotted by leaf blower wielding citizens as they alight to earth ..
