webfact Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 Kanchanaburi: "Ungrateful son" subdued after bashing his father to death with a hoe Picture: Thai Rath Thai Rath reported that a 39 year old man is in custody after he attacked and killed his father with a hoe yesterday. Tha Makaa police in Tha Sao district of Kanchanaburi in Thailand's west responded to calls that Athit Thaowiboon had attacked his father, Theng aged 76. Pol Sub-Lt Suphot arrived and, after the mad son went for him with the hoe, called for back-up. Officers responded and armed with U-shaped hooks managed to subdue the suspect on a road about one kilometer from the scene. Picture: Thai Rath Back at the house Theng was dead from multiple wounds to the head. Athit was being held in the cells - so far he was just incoherent about what had happened. An investigation is underway to discover what might have caused the trouble. Thai Rath called the suspect "Look Thoraphee" in their headline - a reference to a story in the Thai epic the Ramakian (Ramayana) about an ungrateful buffalo who kills his father. CNXexpat Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 What´s wrong with some Thais. Most are super relaxed, by example in traffic if somebody drives on the wrong site and they have to change their lane to let the other drive through. But on the other side some become mad because nearly nothing. It can´t be always because drugs.
timendres Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 They are still using those absurd poles! That really sums up Thailand in one simple device. 1

amykat Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 Imagine if an older parent gets dementia and can no longer hold back his tongue for example? Now criticism starts to rail down and maybe things he has been mad about for years too.

Classic Ray Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 The poles are really popular in China as well and considerably cheaper than either Tasers or the recently advertised ballistic Spider-Man type net, which is $850US if I remember correctly.

Tension and anger build up. Now add a lot of hot weather and humidity, low level jobs, little spending money, little chance for advancement, some recreational drugs, etc. Steam builds and the pressure cooker explodes. 1
