Certain towns in the US no longer have fireworks displays because the sounds may upset people's pets.

If you read the link oxford-bans-clapping-to-avoid-upsetting-students/ you perhaps can imagine what could be the topic of the article. Not a rocket science.

Its the students, the students union who implemented this

So I Googled "silent jazz hand " which I admite I didn't know what it was.

"British Sign Language clapping — spreading your fingers and waving your hands back and forth, aka “silent jazz hands” — instead of the traditional banging your hands together "

Image result for what is silent jazz hand

LOL

So How about the blind people?? Not they will be in the dark. Pun intended , ????

So in support of the Blind people I suggest a  Silent hand Jaz and a lot of screaming Haba haba Haba!

I originally thought braille  excitation, but I have not worked out the technical difficulties yet. :w00t:

But a very real situation. And very common.

Hmmmm.  If I can play devil's advocate, I've attended HS and college graduations where applause was prohibited (or discouraged).  Reason is the popular kids would get a ton of applause while the average kids would get next to none, creating an awkward silence and unnecessary public humiliation.  Not cool.  The OP is not precisely the same, but nothing wrong with creating a level playing field for all.  Just saying...

Quote from the article:  However, one objector to Oxford’s mandate did raise an interesting point on Twitter: “But what about those people who are visually impaired?”  ????????????  Snowflakes and Daffodils - you gotta love 'em and laugh at 'em.

See what you're saying and is probably fit for this very easy day and age, but it's bolllox really. They should take it on the chin and/or try to better achieve. The greatest gen never had such pampering I'm sure. All this wrapping kids up at that level does little to properly prepare one for the big wide world, which is a steaming pile of competitive dung. If they can't handle lack of recognition through lower grades, then they will come a cropper with cortisol overload when they get a bolllllocking for not performing in the field.
