PHUKET: The managing director of the company responsible for the construction of a petrol station in Phuket where a building collapse killed seven workers and hospitalised two others on Thursday is believed to be in hiding after police were issued a warrant for his arrest to face charges of negligence causing death and serious bodily harm.

 

Thalang Police Deputy Chief Lt Col Anukul Nuket confirmed that police have been issued a warrant of arrest for Chuchart Plasuwan, the 44-year-old managing director of the The Blue Station Co Ltd.

 

The Phuket Provincial Court approved arrest warrant number 354/2019 on Friday (Nov 22), he said.

Shirking responsibility. Not dissimilar to the person that causes a serious traffic accident and then makes a run for it. Another day or two and we'll read that he's been apprehended (or committed suicide).

As in the whole world, even here you save money by using poor materials, if people die, what bad luck, they were in the wrong place at the wrong time!
I hope they find the criminal very soon and that he receives the right punishment, the death penalty, after a few years in a dirty Thai prison!

you forgot, actively avoid any Health & Safety costs

Should have supplied his staff with amulets or perhaps even helmets ?

It's Thailand to blame for this building failure NOT the managing director! Reason they allowed building work to be done without controls on materials used and construction methods. I really can see NO POINT in sending in officials to carry out inspection when the milk had already boiled over!

writing accurate, grammatically and structurally correct english and being a native speaker are not dependent on one another; you can achieve the former without the latter. and possession of the latter does not guarantee the former.

Chuchart Plasuwan is a tiny man and a coward. In this life when terrible things happen and you are the cause or the responsible party, you own up. In other words you MAN up! You act like an adult. You do not flee like a scared child. 

 

With the attitude of alot of Thais and their refusal to own the problems they cause, law enforcement needs to create massive penalties for the act of fleeing from the scene of a crime or evading an arrest warrant. Perhaps it would act as a deterrent and discourage acts of cowardice?
