PHUKET:-- A slow loris tout was arrested in the popular Phuket tourist area Kata Beach last night (Nov 26), marking the third time he has been arrested for possession of the protected animal in Phuket.

Local wildlife officers accompanied by police attached to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE) arrested Nares Sang-agart, 32, in front of the Kata Palm Resort at about 8:30pm, explained Khao Phra Thaew Non-Hunting Area Conservation Centre Chief Piyawat Sukon.

“He was found carrying a slow loris that was about one year old. It is the first time that we have recorded this particular loris in our records,” Chief Piyawat said.

Whatever the new, harsher law is, hopefully it will teach him, that this time was the last time and he will never do it again.

What's it name Morris, but seriously this man is exploiting endangered wildlife

for financial gain,it should be 3rd time and you go to jail,a 500 Thb fine is not

going to cut it,as all he will do is get another one and be back on the streets.

The new law says that he will have to pay a 500 Baht fine AND wai the arresting police officer. It is a genuine crackdown.

Which one is the slow loris ?

The one overtaken by the law.

Nothing will happen, the man needs to earn money to feed his family and this is the only way he know to get quick cash.
