Anyone hold the original SE Special Entry Elite Visa?

Featured Replies

Anyone on here still own and use the original, pre-2013 version of the Thai Elite Visa? If so do you find the required 90 day visa stamp renewals tedious or is there any easy way to deal with it? I was told by Thai Elite if you hold the original Special Entry visa you can change to the PE Privilege Entry visa free of charge and get the yearly stamp those offer which is one of the main differences between the two.

Isn't one thread enough?

I have requested TV mods delete that original thread. I believe it is asking too many questions in one topic to get a clear answer. Please reply in this thread.

It is removed now.

Not sure Thai Elite will do a transfer of a SE lifetime membership without changing to a 30 year PE membership.

What I was told is if you transfer from an existing lifetime Special Entry (SE) Elite visa holder you have two choices.

Option 1) Keep the SE category but you are converted to 30 years and must get a new visa stamp every 90 days. I believe this is NOT the same as 90 day reporting which can be done online and has no cost. The 90 day SE visa stamp must be done in person and costs 1900 THB every 90 days (If you stay in the country). If you choose this option you retain all Elite benefits like limo and health check up for the duration of the visa. If it is a family visa the family member's continued visa depends on the Core member.

Option 2) convert from SE lifetime to PE 20 year visa. With this you lose all perks like healthcare, limo AND you lose 10 years but you get 1 year stamps. Those are eligible for 90 day reporting which can be done online. Another benefit is if it is a family member each member gets their own independent 20 year visa.

What I am wondering is if anyone has purchased an existing Special Entry Elite visa AND/OR if someone originally purchased an SE visa but were able to change to the PE. What was the experience of conversion like? I am not sure if the SE to PE conversion option is unique to transferees or to all holders of SE visas.

Not too sure on the 30 year rule on se unless it has been sold on to another person then the membership loses its lifetime status and has an expiry of 20-30 years, I was told the 20 year limit many years ago if people wanted to sell, but maybe they changed it to 30 years, a few years back they did ask members if they wanted to change from se to pe, some  did, some didn’t, the main difference of visa would be the 12 months compared to 3 months
