Doomsday: The Missing Children

All 3 episodes available on Lime.

Summary: In the autumn of 2019, 7-year-old JJ Vallow and his step-sister, 17-year-old Tylee Ryan, disappear from their home in Rexburg, Idaho. As months pass with no explanation or answers on the kids' whereabouts, police and family beg their mother, 46-year-old Lori Vallow, to produce the children or explain where they are. Ten months later, in June 2020, JJ and Tylee's mutilated bodies are found buried in a makeshift grave on a rural Idaho farm, leaving their friends, family, law enforcement and the world to wonder, what happened to JJ and Tylee?

Being a big Sopranos fan, looking forward to this one.

My Dinner With Alan: A Sopranos Session will feature esteemed critics Alan Sepinwall and Matt Zoller Seitz, authors of the best-selling and award-winning book The Sopranos Sessions at Holsten’s in Bloomfield, New Jersey, the location of the controversial last scene of The Sopranos, to discuss the epic, multi-award-winning series.

The second bonus feature of this exceptional film is an exclusive and extremely rare interview with the show’s creator David Chase, where he talks about his childhood memories of Newark, the personal vision behind his landmark series, his love of cinema and presenting The Sopranos on the big screen in 2021.

Thanks.  Also, David Chase just did 90 minutes on "Talking Sopranos" -- YouTube and audio podcast.

If like me you may  have a festive house guest who has requested the following
no car chases, no cops&robbers no guns & guns, no narcos, no gangsters,  no scifi, no ethinics and no sex ( yikes !! )

So thanks to VLC and my wee mouse I managed to skim through and select the following from my archive.

A Call to Spy 2019
Women spies sent in to occupied France during WW2. Based on a true story.

Agatha and the Midnight Murders 2020
The author tries to sell a manuscript. Set in a crowded cellar during a WW2 London air raid.
A real life who-could-have-possibly-dunnit?  with Helen Baxindale as Christie.

Rebecca 2020
A new bride has to overcome the old household loyalties of her new husband's previous wife.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2235695/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
LilyJames , Kristen Scott Thomas and Keeley Hawes

The Lie 2020
Shows how easy it is to innocently get into trouble.  I won't spoil the plot  :-)

The Durrells 2016 (Series 1 to 4)
I'm sure this has already already been recommended ?
Keeley Hawes of course makes it all worthwhile imho.

The English Game. The birth of football / fitbaw /soccer.
Downton Abbey meets Match of the Day, starring Graeme Souness ( only jesting)

Thanks for all your recommendations this year and I wish y'all a Merry Christmas.

Maybe you can also help me in my search for some fitting XMas movies, as I have not been successful in my quest.

Looking for a couple of politically correct, romantic comedy hard-core porn movies, preferably musicals.

Any suggestions?

Ming The Merciless deemed 'discriminatory stereotype'--

If you watched Flash Gorden nearly half a century ago ----it's probably to late to save you---if you haven't---"Just Be Warned"

Max Von Sydow's archly evil Ming the Merciless from Flash Gordon has been branded a 'discriminatory stereotype' by the British Board of Film Classification. In a reclassification of the sci-fi classic, the BBFC has added a new content warning over the depiction of the character, which is clearly intended to be Asian, but is played by a white actor.

It has called it 'dubious if not outright offensive', and now among other warnings ' is added 'discriminatory stereotypes

Breach----Bruce Willis

Thought I would download a movie for the night & saw that Bruce Willis had a Sci-Fi just out---- Wow talk about bad reviews---everybody Panned it----and IMDB gave it a 2.... I have never seen a rating that low. Hope he wasn't being paid on  a box office percentage.

Breach Review:-- Schlocky Sci-Fi Horror That's So Abysmal, Breach has its moments of B- movie , stemming more from utterly ridiculous execution than a sincere effort to create a gripping space horror.

A random find.

I was looking at the recent Grand Army series (it's about a high school in Brooklyn, not the military) and a review mentioned that the model for all of those kinds of shows is My So Called Life which I had missed back then. So I had a look at My So Called Life and what do you know the lead is Claire Danes who later starred in Homeland. You know, the crazy blonde lady! So what a backwards way to get a new fix of Claire Danes!

He is still waiting for another trial from his jail cell.

Have watched three movies over the last two evenings......

One strange one called "Swallow" and it's nothing to do with birds or oral sex!! All the same, an interesting watch.

Atomic Blonde with Charlize Theron and John Goodman, and I have to say that the fight scenes in it are so good and so realistic that I would be surprised if someone didn't (unintentionally) get hurt whilst they were doing them. And one lesbian scene was very steamy, to say the least.

And one called "Rhythm Section" which has nothing to do with music, but a plane crash, and starred Blake Lively and Jude Law, and was well worth watching.

Tv Series - Heksejakt AKA Witch Hunt

Enjoyed episode 1.
All 8 episodes with subs available on TPB.

Summary: Law firm worker Ida Waage has to sign a bill for 450 000 Euros, but hesitates. She doesn't know the firm.
Can she trust the people she works for? Is it a scam?
Should she blow the whistle?

Thanks for the recommendation Will27.

I've watched a few of these Scandinavian crime dramas/police investigations. They do tend to be well produced with a good story.

I've just d/l this one. I look forward to watching it.
