Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has promised to dedicate every hour of his time to the good of the country and the people.

In his New Year’s pledge, which was posted on his Facebook page in the form of a 15-second video clip, the Prime Minister said “I am determined to solve all problems and initiate new things, I promise to use every hour of every day to its fullest. I will not stop working for the nation and the people so long as I am still strong physically and mentally.”

In the same clip, the Prime Minister also wished the people happiness, success and for their hopes to be fulfilled. For the New Year, the Prime Minister and his wife led cabinet ministers and their spouses to sign a book of good wishes for Their Majesties the King and Queen at the Grand Palace.

Super Poll, meanwhile, reported that 79.5% of respondents said that they wished for an improved economic situation when they prayed on New Year’s Eve.

Start 2020 as you finished 2019..................................Utter claptrap.

The best thing you can do for the good of the country and it's people, is to step down, and allow for a clear, and fair election (including the senate having to be elected, not hand picked cronies).

The above statement instantly reminds me of the last century McDonald's commercial,

"We Do It All For You".

I used to chuckle every time I heard or read that line.

So is he saying that up until now HASN'T been dedicating every hour of his time to the good of the country and people?

good video and a good speech by Khun Prayut Chan O Cha. Thailand has many projects and infrastructure being implemented at this time and it's because of this man. Thailand was stagnant prior to Khun Prayut being in control. He deserves the recognition that he's getting from the majority of the Thai people. Folks in my village are just happy that there is stability and security without the previous protests and lawlessness.

Is this Prayuth's way of saying he us resigning and going to sit in a jail for a long long time?

  • Popular Post

Looks a bit creepy to me....????

But what does concern me is that if 'you' don't pay him much notice, & only hear the occasional soundbite - such as this; it does sound ok.

What's the quote: "tell a lie often enough & it becomes the truth"?

He'd be ok in McD's though.

This is scary, he is determined to be around public life until he feels is no longer capable of doing the job., coups and strokes aside.

yes ..... so sounds like he's going to be here for the long haul, thank god for that.

best for those who complain everyday to just move on to greener pastures as they say.

Yeah let him keep on working on getting the economy to slow down untill it goes down the drain. The same place where you may find Thailand's human rights, seperation of powers, democracy. Further down, in the sewers,  one can find the instigator of previous protests and lawlessness: Suthep & friends (such as an angry monk making police officers grovel before him).

Calling for 40-50% (if not more) of the Thai people to emigrate now are we? Wonderful.

Prayut promises to devote himself to the country and people.:cheesy:

He should have done that in may 2014, and stayed away playing with his guns.

He forgot one very vital part. He will do it in the perspective of his way of looking at good and bad.

god has nothing to do with it; rather a rigged election and a little and even a lot of intimidation on the part of the military who have absolutely nothing to do in politics.
Their job is to defend the borders of a country, not to ruin it by stuffing their pockets.

Ask the poor people in the villages if their lives have improved since he has been in power.  No, prices have gone up, food quality has got worse, air quality is dangerous to health. corruption is still rampant even though he promised to stop it.  Nothing to be happy about.

And it sounds like many new or increased taxes are about to be implemented (must finance all those army toys).

And many Thais are discontent with strong arm governing (like abolishing FFP).

Winding everyone up again.  Do you have any Thai friends?  They say the opposite.   The 1 percent are doing really well.  Are you referring to them?

Fact is cha cha has done wonders for Vietnam.  Farangs are passing up Thailand, setting up businesses in Saigon and other places in the country.  It has that same energy that Thailand had before the coup.

The man is clueless and ruining a perfect good country by keeping foreigners out, allowing the Baht to climb too high and just focusing on a nationalist policy that only sees exports as important.  Rich and poor disparity as grown tremendously since he usurped power.

Oh like Hun Sen in Cambodia?

I think he meant to say, not ask what I can do for you but rather ask what you can do for me.

+1 on that score Ed. Same in our village, loathed, despised, abhorred, execrated. When you sit and talk to the locals the feeling is of resignation............."They have the guns, we have nothing, what can we do".

So,So,Sad.....

This is all 101 infrastructure taken from the Shinawatra era. If him and his cronies did not force them out it would have already been implemented Steven. So your statement is utter nonsense. Now what he and his cronies are doing is bending over allowing the Chinese to move in and take over. Now this is sacrileges.

The majority of Thai do not approve of him or his strong fisted organization. There is a little party called FFP that is in the process of being crushed to smithereens by? And FFP is the true voice of the majority of Thai people's future and they went out of their way to silence them as harsh as they could and still not finished until Jan 21.

For a minute I was thinking you were living abroad in some sheep community. Here is a fact. China has the most sheep for a country in a world. Don't figure.

On another note: Happy New Year to you Steven! ????

You only have to read the report to realise where Prayut's loyalties lie.

Interesting as any protests probably didn't affect them in the slightest, up in the village.
