Acer Aspire 4930G, yes, old, was good and now dead?

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

After reading the Old Toshiba thread, perhaps some kind folks could help me out.

I cannot get power on at all, no lights on, plugged in, battery was OK, but nothing. Pressed the ON button, nothing.

Downloaded the Aspire 4930/4930G Series Service Guide

http://tim.id.au/laptops/acer//aspire 4930 4930g.pdf

and now asking for you assistance to power up this computer.

Thanking you in advance :wai:

Take the battery out and try ac only. Try another cable plug. If both don't work, then the system board may be fried. (No beeps or anything)?

check the power adapter(transformer) is got the proper output to power the PC. I had a adapter fail recently and caused some very bizarre symptoms for the PC.

I have a pristine but historic 18.3 inch 8920g had the same power up problem it was the graphics card had to get the board re soldered in CM around 2000bt works not to bad my Mrs still uses it daily ????

Hi Folks,

Thank you for your replies. :wai:

Did the power things mentioned without success.

Maybe the Windows Vista which is built in has locked the laptop power since I tried to reinstall it and then screwed it up ????.

Is there a reset button on this model to light things up ?

Thanking you all once again. :wai:

Win ????
