Where to buy Hydrocortisone cream 1% in Pattaya?

I have some I brought from Australia (Dermaid) but it's almost finished and the local pharmacy doesn't have anything like it, and she also rang her supplier who can't offer an alternative. Why is this so hard to find here, like it's a dangerous drug, when it can be bought across the counter at any pharmacy in Australia.

Fascino has Sanobot cream containing Betamethasone, it did the trick for me

exactly, you need to go to the pharmacy and ask, i had some minor skin itch thing where hydrocortisone does the trick

I'll try and get what works for me first, and that's Hydrocortisone 1%.

Have you checked if it's marketed in other counries using another name?

Yes, of course, can't find anything like it in Thailand, must be on some kind of restricted list.

Try the pharmacy right next to TIM go go on  2nd road....opp soi 13.

Small place, well stocked, very knowledgeable....the owner's son is a young guy

who is very helpful. He gets lots of generics fm India so you never know.

Yes this is very hard to find in Pattaya.

It needs to be stored cold.

But it is available at Fascino North Pattaya Road under the brand name Daktacort 15g. 1 percent hydrocortisone. It also contains miconazole.

They will give you an ice cube when you buy it.

It may sometimes be available at Fascino Central Pattaya road but I don't think Fascino South Pattaya road carries it. 

But definitely at North Pattaya road.

If you find it elsewhere and it is not stored cold, do not buy it.

I use Aristocort (triamcinotone Acetonide) cream 0.1%. Its a topical cortisone and  is available at all pharmacies.

Daktacort is a miconazole nitrate ointment....w hydrocortisone.

Different from just H.

Also, not sure about the storing cold bit....the tube says no such thing.

I have a generic tube of hydrocortisone 1% called Cutisoft....says store below 30ºC

Funny, the tube of Dermaid 1% I have says Do Not Refrigerate, but keep below 25 degrees.

You're right. It has two active ingredients. So it depends on what a person is using it for whether it would be good or not.

Sounds like Daktacort cream would be perfect then.

 

I use it for a recurring fungal inflammation underarms obviously sweat related. Be careful to not use too much as it thins the skin. Was recommended by a doctor.

 

My quick read says the only hydrocortisone is mostly for eczema.

So does Hydrocortisone, but I rarely get the problem, that's why a 30g tube has lasted me 3 years. You know what a toot is I assume? Just when you compared it to an underarm condition I wondered.

I don't think you have anything to lose by trying out the Daktacort. I would be shocked if it doesn't work for you in a similar way. I also have a small tube that lasts longer than the expiration date (as I only use it occasionally to clear things up and then stop).

I also use Dermaid from Australia. I get dry flaking skin on the forehead, bridge of the nose and sometimes ears. It clears it up in a day.

I've tried to buy some here in Phuket without success.

I might try to find some of the other creams suggested here.

Funny, there seems to be a restriction on a cream that's available without prescription in Oz, yet they'll sell you all kinds of skin whitening creams that I imagine are for the most part untested and potentially dangerous.

The first time I bought some in Australia the pharmacist was a little reluctant to give it to me without a prescription. Apparently it is/was something that had to be recorded when dispensed. 

A friend, who visited here, got me a couple of tubes without a problem sometime later.

The cortisone, as a steroid, is the problem.

Either wait for sheryl, the forum doc, to come to the thread or see a doctor to check about alternatives. There a plenty of creams for treating skin conditions (like the mentioned Bethametasone). But I couldn't tell whether it is equivalent (all under the keyword "corticosteroid").

It is nit that hydrocortisone topical is restricted. It just isn't used much they prefer betamethasone which is very closely related and has same effect. You can easily buy betamethasone cream either by itself or with an antifungal or antibacterial.  It will work just as well in most cases.

a couple of us have told him this already but he's adamant he wants hydrocortisone, he MUST have hydrocortisone

Apparently they are NOT the same in terms of potency. Perhaps some or all betamethasone preparations would be OVERKILL for some conditions? I recall shopping for creams and googling the different betamethasone products being offered and deciding they weren't really right.

Well if Daktacort is OK with him, he can have it and why shouldn't he try it if similar has worked for him before?

THis has hydrocortisone inside 10mg for 15gram cream  see picture , cost just under 200 baht , avaible in pharmacy Tesco Lotus (must keep in fridge , them do also , different than open air pharmacy's
