Went to buy some strawberries and got this as well

Oh how nice, some extra packing strips. Just by coincidence they also made the volume strawberries look 30% more than the actual amount.

Live and learn I guess. From now on I'll be lifting these things above my head before buying.

Be careful the bottom doesn't fall out, Hal!

4 years living in Thailand, and buying fruit and veg from markets, and grocery stores, and I've never seen such a thing. Disgusting.

I would politely take the bag back to them, ask them to weigh it, and hand them 5 baht, and thank them for taking the bag off your hands, wai, smile ridiculously, and walk out. Let them know that you know what scumbags they are, without ever accusing them of anything.

Great creative recycling! Much better than burning it in the closest ditch!

I guess it's their way to compensate for the missing 30% Chinese tourist.

Huge fat pumped up bags of crispy things from super market

are also disappointing on releasing the pressure.

hal

Try it it might be an aphrodisiac............:cheesy:

It happens!  The wife and I used to go to a duck restaurant in Phi Chit for lunch every other week when over there, until the last time.....the 150 baht feast had a layer of duck meat on the top and a lot of scrappy duck krup underneath!  Not been back and will never go back again.  Its on the other side of the road to the tax office and down about a 100 or so metres.

Pringles containers could be half the size!

putting the packing there on the bottom, saves you the feel of disgust in seeing those bad ones at the bottom...

Same with the yoghurt.

Yeah have been done with this before, but to be honest I never buy strawberries now.

Why do they harvest them when they are still not ripe, just smallish, green and sour?

Wifes response? 'Thai like sour'.

Is that why they add sugar to everything? Probably dip them in a chili powder and sugar mix.

Daughter recently brought some fruit from a day trip.

It was in the usual foam tray with transparent wrap.

Sticking up like a generous filling.

What you see later: under the fruit in the center there is another foam tray upside down.

Manually/roughly cut to size with knife or scissors.

So she got two foam trays separated by a thin layer of fruit.
