Health minister Anutin's Facebook page "shut down" after Covid-19 quarantine post

Daily News reported that embattled health minister and DPM Anutin Charnvirakul's Facebook page appears to have been shut down. 

 

The media said this happened after a post appeared saying that visiting nationals of nine countries affected by the Covid-19 crisis would face compulsory quarantine for 14 days.

 

The post had an official Heath Ministry picture and said there would be no exceptions. It was soon removed.

 

But soon thereafter the whole page went dead. 

 

Another site called "Like Anutin" seemed to be running normally, said Daily News who could give no explanation for the minister's Facebook site going awol.

 

The minister has been the subject of much news lately. He was involved in a very public rant against a foreigner who refused his offer of a free face mask then just yesterday said masks should only be worn by infected people.

 

He then suggested that DIY masks could be produced by Thais to get back at hoarders.

I'm confused as to where they would quarantine themselves. If they tell their hotel they are quarantining themselves , chances are they will be immediately evicted

whats the odds on soon to be EX health minister, with tourism at an all time low, this is just what any potential visitor wants to read, *oh i am here for 3 weeks but have to spend the first 14 days in my hotel room,* that is going to work i bet top brass must be foaming at the mouth

Perhaps it will be back up after it has been amended from 9 to 8 because...well...China.

the pm must take responsibility for this idiot as he appointed him and has done <deleted> all about his gaffs, this fool is making Thailand look pathetic to the rest of the world with foot in mouth comments that show he is too uneducated to be holding this position in govt.  He should have been sacked after his first gaff about farangs, he has just become even more stupid since then and the pm has done nothing to reign him in, shows just how bad the govt has become with all the so called ministers currently involved in govt, ex criminals. illegal land thefts, members that do not have the education to be in their positions, its becoming more and more pathetic, shows just how far you can go with the right amount of money

All the medical expenses incurred will be borne by the individuals themselves

 

It takes "Medical Tourism" to a whole new level

 

I feel sorry for people that have planned a holiday here in the next 2 months - they will have lost everything

Not my favorite guy, but he did try to push for banning visa on arrival for Chinese travelers, only for that proposal to be shot down by Prayut. I sense there is friction between between them now and this latest post of his concerning the quarantine has prolly irked Prayut even more. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s been told to close his FB page by someone above him.

Agree with your comment, but it could be said about the whole corrupt bunch, not one of them is in any way qualified to be in public office.

Minister in charge of the countries health with no medical qualification, not even a first age badge, what could possibly go wrong? At least the agriculture ex con bloke knows about poppy farming ????
