Impatient motorcyclist killed by train

1374-N3-Mar-06-01-Car-salesman-hit-by-tr

PATTAYA:--A motorcyclist too impatient to wait for an oncoming train was killed by it in Pattaya.

The unidentified 33-year-old car salesman rode around a lowered barrier at the rail crossing near Pattaya School No. 7 March 6. Before he made it to the other side, his motorbike was struck by cargo train 871 to Laem Chabang.

His corpse was transported to Banglamung Hospital for his family to retrieve.

If they do not know his identity then how do they know he was a car salesman....

By train?

Would be useful if the hospital was along the train tracks.

He obviously took the wrong train. RIP, unknown car salesman.

I wonder what his last thoughts were, "what a train coming straight at me'.

doubt he had  any, after  all he crossed a  line with a  train coming

If it was just a line and some light/siren.

But this very busy salesman in a rush drove around the lowered bars.

Nothing can stop them.

His family won't find it funny.

Last thought's in this guy's brain was basically no thoughts at all... Like c'mon if a train is that close....

Quite apart from the commonsense aspect: poor judgment of space & speed.

Something I notice quite often here on the roads. In The West we think of that as mostly a female driver problem ...

I had an old school chum die the same way back in Australia.  Racing to get to work on the 11 pm shift he died at a crossing without gates but signs and flashing lights. He miss judged the sped and distance of the train.  The tracks were at an angle to the road...which the coroner attributed to the accident.

"poor judgment of space & speed"?  The extra clever salesman rode around a lowered barrier at a rail crossing!

The sad thing is that at the age of 33, he probably already had spread his DNA.

Well, he didn't get to his destination.

Only to the Final Destination, we all have to go one day.

But hopefully not the same way. I doubt that we have a choice.

Another lesson learnt. Being impatient can make you lose your life.

I'd prefer to come and go at the same time.

Once again it is the train driver I feel sorry for , he must have known what was about to happen .

The OP didn't say that his identity was unknown, it infers that his identity was not made public.

Seriously, what's your point? The 'salesman' was an !d!ot and deserved what he got.

Seriously?  You can't read?  My point was that the OP didn't say that his identity was unknown, it inferred that his identity was not made public.  The poster to whom I responded suggested that, if his occupation was known, his identity should have been known also.

Except with a total population of approximately 69 million, it’s highly doubtful there are 68 million Thai drivers.

I see it on a daily basis: Thais who can’t spend the extra two minutes to drive up to a U-turn but instead drive down the wrong side of the road; Thais who have a red light but can’t wait to make a left turn as traffic with a green light (i.e. the right of way) proceed through an intersection; and my favorite, Thais who just pull out of small sois and driveways without looking or slowing down because they just can’t wait.

Bit like a fly hitting a car windscreen at 100kp/h the last thing to pass through this guys brain was probably his butt.
