Thai Rath said sources suggested that the officer was working on a booth in the international arrivals/departures at Bangkok's main airport Suvarnabhumi. Sources said the officer had contracted the virus while on duty despite taking precautions like wearing a face mask. Cleaning of the area and quarantine measures were taking place. Attempts to clarify the news with the Immigration Bureau, Public Health Department and airport authorities had been met with tight lipped responses. Thai Rath said a press conference would be held to announce the details on Wednesday. That's what I think too, and I'm sure of it. The Thai authorities are lying about the numbers, probably, to try to contain the economic damages and to maintain a worldwide reputation, but, maybe, it's just the typical arrogance. In doing so, they can always blame the foreigners, as they have been doing with the Italians in the recent days.
