Popular Post webfact
Covid-19: ALL fake news! Don't share reports of foreigners dying in Thailand - it's rubbish, say Thais Thailand's anti-fake news department has asked people to stop sharing erroneous reports of foreigners dying from coronavirus all over the country. The reports being circulated have all been disproved as rubbish, according to the Department of Public Health. Here are the alleged cases, some truthful details and the verdicts: Phuket: A foreigner died in a hospital there and a death certificate was shared online. Yes, he had a respiratory illness and died but it was not Covid-19. Verdict: Fake News. Chumporn: Two foreigners died and the story was hushed up by the hospital. No one has the virus there at all. Verdict: Fake News Petchaburi: A hospital was closed and deep cleaned after the death of a foreigner from Covid-19. Yes, a foreigner had been to China and died after falling unconscious from chest pains. But an a check revealed no Covid-19. Verdict: Fake News The Thai authorities are appealing to people online not to share such nonsense that is misleading and damaging. Popular Post darksidedog
I just got back from visiting some people in Nong Plalai prison. I am told that an entire wing has been emptied of people to house 8 inmates suspected of having the virus. I am hoping that they are just sick with something else, because if it gets going in there, thousands will get it in no time, given they are packed in like sardines. Keeping the lid on that one would be extremely tough. 36 4

Of course if the people being released are already infected, that wouldn't be good. I'm starting to think the subset of experts that are saying it's likely that the majority of the world will be infected are correct. The remainder that wouldn't be will have dodged it until a vaccine that comes out which might take 18 months. The tactics now appear to be delaying cases rather than containment so that health care systems aren't too overwhelmed at one time. 7 1
monkfish
I understand botching up a test is quite easy so once it gets out they can just claim incompetence or maybe faulty test kits. Should be no problem to whitewash a cover up. Edited March 12, 2020 by monkfish

Basically yes. It is the induction wing for new inmates that has been emptied, which is smaller than the other wings, but all 100 or so have been taken out and put into other wings to make room for the 8, which of course may be a larger number quite quickly. You now have to wear a mask to even be allowed in for a visit, which wasn't the case a few days ago, even though you speak through a phone with a pane of glass in front of you.. 3

Popular Post owl sees all
Shame that the authorities haven't released some of the inmates to ease things. Start with the mushroom pickers. And the people that hit the 'like' button on Facebook. Then the overstayers. That would help thin out the population. 13 2

Popular Post spidermike007
As I have stated elsewhere, I keep hearing about the fake numbers in Thailand. Although I acknowledge it is possible, when you consider the staggering incompetence of the Thai army and administration, how would they be able to accomplish what far more oppressive governments like Iran and China were not able to accomplish? People are NOT scared of the army anymore. They are weak, and feeble. And they are despised. If a Thai person had a family member with Corona, in the hospital, who was seriously ill, would they not run onto social media and talk about it? Thailand is one of the most active countries on earth, when it comes to social media. I think we would have thousands of people blabbering on facebook, instagram, line, youtube, and others, about this. So, again, how would the hapless army be able to cover this up to the extent many suggest? I am sure the numbers are higher than what we are seeing. But, how much higher? Impossible to suppress this kind of information, in this day and age. Utterly impossible. China could not. Iran could not. And you are suggesting this feeble army is more powerful and more competent? You have to test to find it, not sure that that is actually happening in this country. I know other countries that do not have enough test kits as of yet with the USA being one of them.

SometimezaGreatNotion
"A death happens often but it does not get classified as COVID-19 related." There are some logical problems with the above statement. It gives no supporting sources or actual data. Arguing against it would be like trying to prove God does not exist.
