I bet they wish they hadn't kicked out all them over stayers, come back all is forgiven 

if you are expat or tourist and living in Thailand with a visa and this one coming end during a lockdown you can always ask a letter from your embassy or consulate for Immigration to extend your visa or extension for 30 days price 1900 bath..There is a provision(clause2.28) in the current police order(327/2557) concerning extension of stays that allows immigration to give a 30 days extension"based on embassy request".It is what they are using to issue they cannot travel due to Covid-19 extensions.
