I'm going to send a link so others can see what's been happening for a long time now. Many single moms going to the big city to work and send money home to grandparents who are "raising" their children. This was back in 2014.There are millions more now . Now with this

crisis, they'll have to come home and some will bring the disease home to their parents and put them in dire risk, especially if they have existing health issues. Communal water glass and sticky rice sharing, without fully understanding what will happen. This was years ago,and there are millions more now. https://www.unicef.org/media/media_73914.html

No one needs a link. Anyone with half a brain knows that’s what happens. It’s Thai culture.

I too bike everyday but it is a solitary activity. Until there is a curfew in place, you are not banned from going out, so I do not see a problem with getting daily exercise by walking or biking alone. After that, it will largely depend on conditions of the curfew.

Two or three times a week (not regular and not daily), I drive about 5 minutes to a nearby, suburban lake that has and excellent cycle path around it and burn about an hour of calories on my bike. The lake isn't part of my moobahn so the locals don't know me from Adam. Facing the risk of some local busybody calling the anti-corona panic line and being SWAT-teamed by a bunch of bored and indolent cops or maybe one of them smart BMW's... I reckon I will just double-up on the treadmill in the lounge.

Possible the most sensible comment to have come from the government to date. If people ignore the peril and keep socialising this virus will sweep rampantly through the country.

First sensible  thing theyve  said............be  totally  ignored, saw  two  staff in Global  house  mock shagging each other 2  days ago, really going for it, all their friends  surrounding them thought  it was  hilarious...............was  ok though, they both had masks on.

All except the soi dogs who can finally reclaim their territory!!

or the virus morphs across species a further stage, when a soi dog bites someone infected... and again another to send the newly morphed back...

This is becoming serious, it’s great coming out with all this rubbish about shopping malls. People find other things to do. Go to 7/11, stand on a street corner, there are groups of many people, drinking and chatting. You need a serious lockdown. Martial law, is the only way you will slow or halt the progress of this virus. Putting up false figures makes people think oh! It’s not that bad. Put out the real figures and frighten people.

All this “I was doing this bla bla”......well they are asking you to not now, just stay indoors and stop the spread.

Does this mean that I am not supposed to be sitting on my balcony overlooking a forest, no-one else in sight, only the birds in the trees and the chickens running around? What a load of cobblers.

Stay away from other people who you do not know where they've been or in contact with. Wash hands every time you touch something. And to keep others happy, wear that mask. The Man in the Iron Mask.jpg

Try explaining to Thai's "the touch effect". To them and  some others it's much more difficult to learn not to touch something that other people just handled than learning proper English! Damm those escalator's

You just need to encounter one person with the virus. How do you think China stopped the virus from  spreading throughout China: Complete lockdown! Currently Indonesians are dying in the streets. I can quite easily imagine that happening in Thailand too.

You have an overactive imagination. Try jogging.

I have heard from Friends in Bangkok and up in Issan regarding the xenophobia and locals who they have now lived side by side, now telling them to leave.

I guess people forget where the Coronavirus originated from.

Anyone for bat soup!

I am sending this outdoors from a deckchair in my garden and the nearest neighbour is 35+ mtrs away.

After my coffee I shall do some gardening so I will be outdoors most of the morning.

I've seen similar smaller studies - do you know the source of the 350 patients cited?

I am completely amazed by the stupidity of the people who comment on this article!

it says THAI AND FOREIGNERS STAY INSIDE!

cant you read?

But it's duff info really not enough detail provided i.e. just for you:

- how about for work?

- what jobs can go to work?

- need to go to pharamacist?

- run out of food, supermarket trips?

- restaurants are open for takeaways, make sense of that.

Hopefully clear guidance will be given today

Not in Roi Et Province.

Shopping malls, golf clubs, non essential shops still operating as usual.

And if so they will be the reason a full lockdown is made for the rest of us....go figure

Up to the Provincial Governors to enforce any Emergency decree's.

Look's like Roi Et's is to busy playing chuffing golf.

I would like to believe your right, and its up to them to shut down the venues as indicated in the decree, but maybe the governor has a big set of cajones, the Prayut led Government Emergency operations center is in charge and once they get wind of non conforming provinces, i fear the worst....it only take a few...then all pay
