I’ve been getting my locks cut by the same professional for the past 23 years and I make a 160km round trip to get shorn by him. There’s loyalty for you and perhaps a personal vanity that knows no bounds!

 

Now that your fave barber shop or salon has shut down, what are you choosing to do? Letting it all hang out, having your partner cut for you, or doing it yourself? Maybe as we’re all staying at home now it doesn’t matter anyway.

 

My question is directed at those TV Members who have a full head of hair and care about their appearance, but the rest of you can have a go at me and give us a laugh too, if you like.

 

Now my wife is sharpening the scissors and can’t wait to get her hands on my overflowing mane. I just know it’ll be a disaster and I won’t be a chick magnet any more…

My Barber was open yesterday when I went for a haircut.

We have our own clippers, wife does it when required, 0- setting, no guard, straight over the top, 3 minutes - done ! ????

For years the choice where I live was either a 5-minute bowl cut with shears at the 50 baht barber shop, or a coiffed, backcombed, blowdried, gelled and sprayed affair that took ten times longer and cost 10x as much at a fancy hairdressers. Neither suited me and practitioners at both types of establishment never listened or cared about what I actually wanted. I tried dozens of them, nearly gave up to go your route, until one lucky day finally finding a goodun.

Luckily my girlfriend is a stylist who has her own salon, which she had to close under the decree, so I have my hair cut for free, and unfortunately she keeps coloring it as well.  Tells me, no one see it, I need practice.  Its been blue, pink, and gray/green.....HELP.....

Over processing like that, it will need removing completely soon.Leave it grow back again or you could have problems down the road.

I had a shaved head before, she let it grow out so she could abuse me.....

oh yes...too many......and I will not share, my pride is already wounded.....she wants to try and put in extensions now also......please just shoot me.....Immigration probably wont let me process my extension in the future as I will look unlike my passport photo....sigh

Had a decent local barber who would do mine for 80 baht, he closed up shop about year and a half ago, tried a few others but then bought the clippers and now the gf gives me a trim every 2 weeks or so sat in the garden.

 

To be honest it doesn’t take a trained hairdresser to do mine, clip on the 3 mm attachment and away we go, have done it myself in the past .

 

Would I prefer to have a full head of hair and complain about barbers shops closing now ?...... of course I would ☹️

Well my one is still open. Shutters halfway down, but he was there.

Mine takes longer than three minutes, but the result is the same. My hairy ears are difficult.

It's working out for me as it always has. Clippers at home and gf cutting the hair.

i stocked up on Just for Men #45 Dark Brown. The secret is to keep it on for 3 minutes not 5 like the instructions say.

Just tell her your her new younger boyfriend and she can share you with your older twin....wait that's not right, she can share herself.....now that's right

25 years cutting my own with an electric clipper.  3mm for my head, 12mm for my beard. 

Ears and nose also done with a Panasonic rotary clipper made just for them.

Looked in my diary as every 5 weeks need the barnett done. Should be this week . Seriously , up here the first of many places to shut was my massage place . When Thais get a haircut they just have to have a shave along with a 30 minuts natter. Can't wait to se them getting shaved while wearing a mask! A haircut must go with a bigger risk than a massage.

Mrs R goes ape when I shave my head and threatened to cut off conjugal relations if I did the same during the lock down. We compromised by her cutting my hair with scissors (those cheap clippers I bought had already clapped out).

 

To be fair she did a good job even if it is hard to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. And my little children enjoyed seeing daddy and mummy laughing rather than arguing!!

 

And hey I saved 80 baht! Win-win on my regular guy in the next soi.

I don't mind having very short hair. Hair clipper under 300 THB at BigC. They last for years.
