Thai media reported that the Cambodian authorities had ordered the resort casino in Poipet closed as of today.

Border authorities at Klong Luek, Aranyaprathet, are anticipating 400 - 1,000 Thai workers at the casino will cross back into Thailand over the next three days.

Several hundred came back yesterday and were subject to stringent health and documentation checks.

They need letters from the embassy in Phnom Penh and heath documentation clearance.

Most are from Sa Kaeo province though some come from further like Bangkok and surrounding provinces and Kalasin, reported 77kaoded yesterday.

A worker who hails from Bang Bua Thong near Bangkok said that there was no one sick among the Thais working at the casino.

The Thais are taking no chances making sure that all returnees self-isolate at their homes or if that is not possible are taken into quarantine facilities of the state.

There are now eight cases of coronavirus in Sa Kaeo province the latest being a man who was connected to a boxing camp in Bangkapi in Bangkok.

The problem, in this case, it won't be the spread of the COV-19 , the issue will be to their poor family's and to the unemployed list

Ive always said Thai Airlines should have a casino on board to generate profits and attract high rollers. Of course it would shut down the gaming upon entering Thai air space.

Yea, casinos are dangerous. By the way, Thailand should build cashinos to increase the GDP, but Thais are not permitted in the cashinos due to Buddhism.

Can you imagine the corruption if Thailand had casinos?

Yes indeed. A good opportunity to rebuild Pattaya's image as a "World Class Gambling Resort" for the Chinese - like Sihanoukville in Cambodia or Macao. The cash will roll in when the virus rolls out!!

Thailand should build casinos. Maybe not everywhere, but at least one or two big ones in Pattaya or on some island.

Thailand should legalize gambling like nearly every other country on Earth has. As for 'shutting down gaming upon entering Thai airspace' well that's just common sense because airplanes start to descend when they enter Thai airspace, it's a pretty small country after all. Any airline suspends service and gets ready for landing 30-40 mins before arrival.
