People selling all their stuff, including their Gwyneth Paltrow DVDs

I have been wanting to buy a few things recently, a bicycle for pottering around on, a new motorbike to replace our ageing Honda Wave, maybe some fishing gear, stuff like that. So I have been keeping an eye on Bahtsold as people offload all their stuff before heading home, and sure enough there have been loads of ads for businesses, boats, condos, jetskis and the like. However, in true Thai fashion, second hand goods seem to hold their value incredibly well, making buying anything second hand  bit of a false economy, even in these desperate times.

I had a good old laugh at this one. Look at the price!

give it another month.

The asking price is not the selling price... people everywhere tend to over value their goods..

Never seen this website before, thanks.

How reliable is it with people actually sending stuff? i.e. do they usually send you a photo of the package before delivery, and then you pay by PayPal?

Are you saying someone could get that DVD for 200 baht?

Read my mind!

Looks better value than the Kiss DVD at 15k baht.

gave my DVD's to the good will in 2014 after ripping all of them.

even ripping them was unnecessary as everything is available via torrent.

CDs have been worthless for 20 years.

Even my Japanese CDs of rare movie soundtracks.

DVDs maybe 15 years ago.

Judging by the description, the seller is farang, not thai, so hard to say 'thai fashion' - more speculative farang fashion

Thanks, that's what I've been looking for (the website, not GP before or after boob job). I didn't know that I've been sitting on a treasure trove (my 10 baht a disk DVD collection) all this time...

the real question that i posed weeks ago will we see a deflationary event where your stuff becomes worthless as everyone unloads.

or is this going to be a hyper inflationary event?

got hundreds of dvds purchased over the years ,cant remember when i last looked at one ,just get them on any torrent site . actually advertized them years ago ,never even got a reply .

And of course they wouldn't be pirated copies.

Any Pattaya condos on there?

You know, the ones worth 1 million people asking 3.

Or a new way of life? :shock1:

No point thinking of finances until we have something to spend the money we may not even have anymore on! ????

Just sayin - by the time this "event" has run its course be interesting to see if we are allowed to own money anymore ????

???? ???? ????

1413 ads for property for sale in Pattaya.

Apparently starting at 0 baht (https://www.bahtsold.com/view/1205138-21-room-beautiful-guest-house-and-cafe-on-the-pattaya-hill-248216) - he must be really desperate to sell, all the way up to 1490 million for this apartment (https://www.bahtsold.com/view/ad-hyatt-studio-for-sale-1-49-mln-baht-387690) - apparently this guy is happy to wait.

Seriously though, this looks like a good deal (https://www.bahtsold.com/view/balcony-at-palm-tree-level-bachelor-condo-must-sell-now--385634), advertised at 625k, already mentioned 610k in the listing, reckon 525k would get it.

You would be happy if he gave you some gold baht  by selling it at a negative price; much like the interest served by the ECB to force the banks to lend their money.
