Shocking how a simple problem was unable to be solved. There were masses of people there for a very good reason, being that there are a hell of a lot of hungry people out there. Half a brain would have seen the authorities take control of the situation and organise the queue to meet their rules. Instead, they send hundreds home with an empty belly.... Disgraceful.

They where standing for more than 2.5 hours in the sun waiting !,lines  reorganizing to the ridiculous way in different ways and trials , over and over again until finally the officials in their nice canary yellow vests arrived and announced some speech …..first only 2 police , later some 6 with caps (high ones , came just talking to the diminishing crowd

Indeed no social distancing rule was followed , and also no fines or arrests as with the 11 foreigners  drinking together a few days ago ….

The Thai Army needs to be mobilized, across the country, to deal with this issue.  If not, how long before rioting and looting starts?

I was thinking the next example of lack of social distancing might be  protest at City Hall....

The organisers had not told the authorities about the event either

The problem stems from here! If they had been informed they would have been prepared!

Best thing would be to give a number out, through media, and then get the food deliver to them.

Not so easy to organise, you have to have it in an area where people can walk to and also get there without forming groups. Social distancing could also mean lines of a mile long. What happens if people join the queue , from a side street, at a half way point. It also need to be do in a way so it only targets the people who really need help!

Location Location Location!

A football stadium would be a good place, would have many exits and a large area to organise social distancing!

One has to wonder how the thai mentality works.
Accept that they are hungry because karma a la Buddhism or will they be angry at the government for failing to feed them.
My understanding is that they think karma decides if you are rich or poor.
Anyone with deeper understanding of Buddhism philosophy?

I agree, as long as it's only the watermelon soldiers that are deployed to hep the ordinary people!

It's about social distancing not about money read the article.

BS.....It's about losing face that a portion of the population is starving and is lining up for food all across the country. About social distancing...hahahahaha.

Maybe some tough love is needed. Learn how to queue properly or starve to death. Up to you.

Are you OK, got enough food and drink?

The phrase ''Jai Yen Yen'' has been replaced by the phrase ''sit down and shut up'' or ''just do what you are told''....

What are they going to do with all that food prepared, packaged, and ready to give away?  It should be taken somewhere to be distributed.  Hope they don't just throw it in the garbage.

Probably given to a dozen monks

"Half a brain would have seen... " See, the problem is, they don't know how to use it. That is, if they even have half of it, for a start!

If these idiots used social distancing instead of all gathering in a huge crowd they would have received their goodies but they just want to be in front of the others in case they miss out . The police could have been used to control them .

Fat man calls hungry people idiots.

They say every cloud has a silver lining ???? Could this mean that, when the bars re-open,  we may look forward to a new selection of gogo dancers in the lean and mean category ?

in some 7 months closure before re opening allowed ,they can loose many weight , and same time many farang livers become even again good for transplantation …..55555

So even a double silver lining …. ????
