so from the families pressure to take care of their family. It’s saddening to see and hear about .... seriously. And it’s not hit the hardest yet what little they may have saved will be spent on family 

greed and then what?

Good for you. These are mainly uneducated girls who get packed off to Bangkok and Pattaya to earn a wage from an early age.

The grandparents look after the children when they are young, parents normally working elsewhere.

Then when the children are old enough they are expected to go and help repay their elders.

In the west money flows down to children, in rural Thailand it is the other way round.

Currently, and for the foreseeable future, this support will dry up and that's why there's queues outside gold shops.

If you ever wonder why your Thai wife or girlfriend enjoys eating so much, its because for most of her young life she spent it eating rice.

That's why they get so much pleasure out of what we take for granted.

Pattayas not changing, just rearranging. From what the girls have told me, regular jobs still pay in the 10k range. A mid range freelancer told me she can make 25k a month, doing an hour or less work per day, as I look in the mirror, their work can't be easy though ;). Prosperity is linked to wages, and they're not increasing anytime soon.

 

Plus even the so called good girls with jobs can head to ibar on a weekend and pick a few grand pocket change. There's a lot of tea money to be lost also.

This is a strange post. You realise Pattaya has been completely shutdown for over a month. No girls are working regular jobs (other than a few big companies). There is no ibar, but yes there are freelancers working off sites like TF, but the bulk of the bar girls are home with their families and not making any money. So not sure where you are getting your information.

Are you even in Thailand?.

They can earn money in Isaan . Plenty of people live there and have jobs/business there . Only , they have to work harder for a lot less money then in a bar . As for getting bored in Isaan , some are yes , most enjoy staying with the family , and having a party with relatives , being bored is nearly never the reason why they go work somewhere else .

All this is off course in normal times , not in these times .But they won't die from hunger in Isaan , if she lives in some village with family .

Well I hope they will be buying up property cause they can have mine at a good price. Then either I move to rural Thailand or give up and go back to the UK..... if and when that can happen. I am thinking Pattaya would not suit me with more of them than there was before, that was too many.

Indeed it was, though IMO young western men have become so emasculated they think their mission in life is to support some woman. I saw the wimps all the time on beaches where their unpleasant females bossed them around.

IMO real sex has been replaced by porn, which is only indulged in when herself isn't around. A western female friend of mine was SHOCKED when I mentioned her teenage son was likely watching porn.

 

You got it right about being on line, which is IMO the reason for the decrease in bars of fit girls. Even the ones that are in the bars spend more time checking to see if they have a prospect on line than they do with the live men in front of them. It's way easier to make a sow's ear look like a silk purse on line that in reality.

Correct. I'm sick of bleeding heart farangs that believe BG hard luck stories. No one is forcing Thai girls to go work in a Pattaya bar beer, but they are expert at telling a prospect anything they think will end up with his money in their pocket. Thai girls go to work in Pattaya to make more money than they can planting rice or working in a sweat shop, often because they have a child or two from a dead beat Thai boy friend.

Many think they will find a farang ATM, and many succeed. Some even have several ATMs at the same time. I used to use a Pattaya internet cafe that was frequented by BGs skyping one of their farang ATMs overseas.

i was there just before Chin Flue. 28th year living here up in Central Area. Pop Down for 2 weeks with Family every 2 years or so , stay nice big Hotel Beach Road Jomtien no worries...... Like every big City, there are places You dont like so dont go.  i liked Soi Six as a singe Chap 32 years ago, now im too old to walk down it.!. Thats a good point. My reply is that Village Life is far different to the West. If the Girls liked and from a Family that never upset anyone they sort of chip in and help a bit, thats about it from what ive seen after they have had a Mo Cy Crash anyway.

I think that after this most village people will be very poor. I've gotten several messages that the girls don't have any food to eat. This is in their village home.

You couldn't read that and realise I was referring to when everything opens up again, as the topic is related to? Did you think the op was talking in the present or what was going to happen after this is over? I really need to explain this to you? When I read the title of the topic I was able to figure out the guy wasn't talking about April 23, 2020 because the country was 80% locked down.

From our standarts most of the village people were already poor before this

they are used to it. And it's not true someone has nothing to eat in a village

it's just impossible, family and neighbour soliarity chain is functionning plus the

local temple give free food, and even the puyaban can help in some situations.

Not to mention the free food available all around in the fields and the forests

and the rivers if you are not lazy.

For me it sounds more like the girls try to have some easy money from you

Is it really "showing signs of ending?"  if so, for who, when, and where?

 

Thailand can open up tomorrow, but many tourists are locked inside their own country, and for those that can get out, many will have to undergo forced quarantine for 2 weeks upon their return.  Something that will change their decision to holiday abroad, I am sure.

 

There's also the issue of little to no flights availability.

 

Then, you have affordability issues for many that would normally be holidaying here. 

 

Showing signs of ending.  I don't think so.
