Over the past several years I have always submitted my TM7 Extesnsion of Stay Form

TYPED ( I save a fillable PDF and just change a couple of detail)

Its quick and saves the hassle of re-wriing every year

IS THIS FORMAT STILL ACCEPTABLE OR DOES IT NEED TO BE HAND WRITTEN?

I do the same thing , but when I submitted it the IO re did it by hand.

I always fill mine out on the computer (sometimes I leave the date blank and fill that in by hand).....worked fine two weeks ago.

Remember - one page only (both sides). And neatly write your phone number below your signature.

By the looks of this from the US Department of State, I think that extension of visas is a non-issue until July 31.  It refers to temporary visas, and I'd guess that the one-year extension is a temporary item; it is not a permanent visa that's why it needs to be extended annually.

Anyway, for what it's worth, here's the message from the US Embassy in Bangkok:

Automatic Visa Extensions

On April 24, automatic, additional visa extensions for all types of temporary stay visas went into effect.  Temporary stay visas of all types are extended automatically until July 31.  If you have a valid visa (i.e. your visa would have expired after March 26, the date of the first "amnesty") you do not need to visit an immigration office in order to benefit from the automatic visa extension. If your visa expired on March 26 (the date of the initial "amnesty") or earlier and you do not have a valid visa, you should visit the nearest local immigration office to request a visa - which is then eligible for any future automatic extensions.  You may be subject to an overstay fine.

For those foreign nationals who are staying in Thailand for over 90 days and must submit a 90-Day Notification of Residence and the deadline is between May 1 and July 31, the deadline has been extended to July 31, 2020.

Before taking my post as fact in everyone's case, please contact the Immigration Office to confirm that the information that I passed along is appropriate for you.  I agree with HullyGully and CMBob.

What you seem to be saying or suggesting is that people here on an annual extension (based on retirement or marriage, for example, and whose annual extensions naturally expire by July 31st) need do nothing in the interim is extremely dangerous and incorrect advice in my opinion.  The only wise and risk-free thing for those people to do is to go to Immigration and extend as usual (that guarantees no adverse consequences, loss of extension, overstay fines, etc.).  I've seen no language in the officially issued police/Immigration orders that expressly or clearly applies the July 31st routine to the annual extensions I've mentioned.

Totally agree, for those here on 1 year extensions ie. retirement or marriage, the amnesty until the 31st July is not applicable.  Why should it be, it was offered for those unable to return to their home Country or extend visas due to the Corona Virus limitations regarding travel.

Actually, no better time to extend 1 year retirement/marriage exts. until the 31st July, Immigration offices are quiet !

BS. Except for Yanks, Brits, and Aussies, our other farang brothers can continue to get income statements from their embassies to allow their renewal of extension of stay. Except now they can't, as their embassies are closed. So, why would these folks show up at Immigration with incomplete documentation? No, this is an obvious case of where the amnesty includes those here on retirement (or marriage) annual extensions of stay. I can't believe this will be too hard to sort out when the gates finally open. Even the Thais can, occasionally, show common sense.

BS really,  perhaps you need to check your facts and good luck when trying to obtain retirement/marriage extensions after 31st July if you have used the " amnesty " !!

Hopefully that changes soon and everyone has to show money in the bank.

Reason: Many lie at their embassy to be able to receive those income statements.

Never had to at the US Consulate (CM). You just filed out an affidavit form, raised your hand, and swear that all the info was the truth.

I never had a need to lie as I could prove my income if needed (and had done so at Immigration a few times getting extensions), but I heard, and know, others who falsified (nicer word than lie) the info on the affidavit.

NOTE: Never ass-u-me  ????

I think that was the main reason for some embassies to stop the affidavit.

I have to show proof of income at the Canadian consulate in order to get a letter. I've had to do it every year and the letters are not questioned at immigration. In fact, last year I had all my documents in order, handed them over to the officer. He began highlighting, underlining and check marking, when he got to the income letter he held it up and asked me why I didn't give him that first.
