Yes, plus many will have furloughed for 3 months.

I would think small places maybe less, but bigger places won't really open till July.

No customers and the staff are cued at Sarisin checkpoint trying to get off the island...

So why would you open....?

You do realise this is a global problem and not just thai centric...ie. no external travel..

No internal travel...globally for most countries.

Gee, had to bite my tongue hard to write that.

I read that hotels can open in Bangkok.  There is a resumption of some domestic flights.  I know Phuket airport is closed at least until May 15.

Remove restrictions.

People have no money they need jobs.

54 people have died from covid-19 in Thailand out of a population of 66 million people.

2 days ago they banned selling alcohol til May 31, next day they changed their mind.

So anything is possible.

Up to Governor.  Phuket has new Governor.

The new governor hasn't assumed his function yet, the old one is still in charge.

And Patong specifically: isn't Bangla rd. still locked like a nuclear disaster site?

Chernobyl 2.

Beach closed?

The booking sites and websites of the hotels are of little help.

Checked a place near Patong (where I had been) offered for about 600! Baht where the reception price table shows 2000+.

The collapse of the Thai economy.

Increased crime

Increased suicides

Thai people will have to withdraw from their 401k or IRA to live.

Ha ha.

No government help.

401 K and IRA to live, yep they are all invested with employer matching contributions aren't they.  Is that why they have been hanging themselves in despair because of a slumping market...lets get real now Marvin...

It wasn't an attempt at sarcasm; just ignorance. I think this particular US citizen thinks that IRA and 401k accounts exist in every country.

If you do not have anything constructive to say, I think it would be wise to keep your irrelevant comments to yourself.

KarenBravo

Advice you should take yourself.

Got to love some Americans. They believe in the 1st amendment, free speech, unless it disagrees with their own point of view.

Don't try and censor posters........just use the scroll-bar.

You have not added anything constructive.

Practice what yòu preach instead of spouting jibberish.

I made valid obsevations on this topic.

You have added zero.
